bro, I don't think his intention was to attack you at all. He was just making an observation that most of the attacks that could be labeled "rabid fanboyism" are clearly from a younger generation. I agree with that. The attacks are in language only teenagers would use. Like the whole'acting hard' wannbe gangsta thing "in your face...suck it down with pride son". You know that kind of stuff.
Again don't think he meant any offense, otherwise I wouldn't ha...

look at all the agrees on this fanboy banter, revealing to say the least.
Just when I was getting back some of my faith in the human race I read this.
I too feel the way you do macalatus, however I didn't start with the NES it was Atari 2600 and Colecovison for me. Yar's Revenge! YAH BABY! Bubble for you.
Fanboyism might be good for the gaming industry but NOT for gamers. Allegence to a brand is narrow minded. Fanboyism is great for companies who can coin terms like "True HD" (sony's marketing spin on their 1080p capabilities), "Giving gamers a choice" (MS's marketing spin on the lack of a Blu-ray or HD-DVD drive) then sit back and watch as their terms are spread around like wildfire by radical fanboy's. Now there are several examples of the insertion of what I call 'vir...
Over in the EGM ratings for Lair are true thread, fanboys are calm and respectful (for the most part). But here the sony "supporters" are going crazy childish Rabid! Good show people.
EDIT: I take it back, EGM ratings for Lair are true thread is just as bad now. *sigh*
I'll wait for more reviews before I resign Lair to my disappointment pile. Metacritic.com is a good site for that.
(see title above)
no need for the rabidness. Its just a game. Consoles are just toys. And you need to chill.
wish I spoke french.
You can fit about 10min of 1080p (VC-1 or AVC encoded) per gigabyte. Therefore you would need five hours of video to fill a dual layer HD-DVD disk and about 8 1/3 hours on dual layer blu-ray. This is assuming that you are running about an average bitrate of 13 Mbits/s. Uncompressed Stereo PCM 16bit 48k audio takes up about 10MB per minute or 600MB per hour.

we are both split hairs so do what you need to do when posting. As far as the "due to" it actually "again due to space constraints" the "again" part throws back to the his earlier speculation. But whatever, not going argue the fine points of responsiblity in journalism, I've said what needed to be said.
Blu-ray uses flash based navigation HD-DVD used a HDi propriatary interactive nav system. Maybe paramount was unwilling to pay to have the feature system translated from flash to HDi. Then again maybe not, we don't know. Maybe its contractual. Maybe it is the budget. I work in film and it could be anything. Or it could be exactly what it presumes, disk space.
The point is that the author of the article doesn't know and in his article says PRESUMABLY. YOU DISCARD his responsi...
the CB article say it all.
"but will feature no equivalent on the HD DVD, PRESUMABLY because of the smaller disc capacity." See that presumably part in the article.
drtysouf21 come on man, this is getting bad. NO WHERE in the article does it say that definitively at this is the reason that the features are not available on the HD DVD format. Plus this a from blu-ray.com, this is not news it's propaganda where the author doesn't even know for sure why HDDVD doesn't have these features.

from the list:
1. Home (good point, looks really cool.)
2. downloadable PSone games (nice feature, good point)
3. FREE (XBL's $50 price is perfect, makes a perma-ban sting a little more for those who wish to exploit hacks, cheats or generally act like a jerk online,. On the contrary, on PSN the solution to a blocked, ignored or banned account is to create another one FREE of charge. It also limits those users who jump from one account to another just rem...
I've done the same from time to time.
