I disagree regarding HD re masters. I've actually enjoyed them quite a bit and I don't think it hurts anything. People need to remember there are a lot of current gen console owners that never got to experience many of these titles. Plus a lot of my enjoyment in gaming in 2014 came from re masters. The Last of Us, Tomb Raider, GTA V, Trine 2, Flower, Final Fantasy 14, DC Universe, Minecraft, etc were all re masters of last gen games and I've enjoyed all of those and out of all ...
I don't get that at all either. I mean, I like mobile gaming as a supplement to my home console gaming but no way in hell would I ever consider making mobile gaming as my main or only means of gaming! WTF is wrong with Japanese people these days?
The game is fantastic! I'm having a blast with it.
Don't get me wrong, I was as aggravated as you when Driveclub launched and online was broken. I'm also aggravated that this seems to be a trend with games being released this generation.
However, the flipside to that is I'm just glad we are at a point in gaming where fixes/improvements CAN be made post-launch. Think about just 2 generations ago, if a game launched broken, it was broken and there wasn't a hell of a lot that could be done about it.
Im calling it now. New Nintendo console called "Fusion." It will be Nintendo's answer to erasing the line between handheld and home console gaming. The new handheld will be able to communicate with your TV either through an HDMI connected docking station or wirelessly. Performance wise it will be slightly more powerful than PS4.
Honestly, it's Driveclub. It is IMO by far the most mis -reviewed, mis-represented and misunderstood game on PS4 for 2014.
Waaaaaaaahhh!!! N4G hates MS, Wahhhhhhhh!!!
So you blame the console(s)? If someone is too busy in their lives to play that's their issue, not the console's.
"Nintendo hasn't been relevant in a long time, and they will stay that way until they step up their Online game"
Yet out of the 3 consoles, the Wii U is the only one that I can consistently get online with and play against others with no connection issues, no hacks, no DDOS attacks, etc. Nintendo's network isn't "sexy" compared to PSN or Live but damn if it doesn't work every...single...time!
Don't act like Driveclub is completely devoid of great gameplay because nothing could be further from the truth. The game is amazing.
IGN scored it 7.9, which I actually agreed with at it's state at launch. However now I would easily score it in the neighborhood of an 8.5. Once replay mode is added along with more tracks, more cars/manufacturers, and tweaked A.I. I believe it will cross over into 9.0 territory. The game just has so much going for it.
The only thing that reviewers got more wrong than their criminally low scores of Driveclub was their ridiculously inflated scores of FH2. I bought both games and IMO, The fact that FH2 is open world doesn't save it from having piss poor handling. The game seriously controls like mud! FH2 has more flash and style than Driveclub. However Driveclub has it where it really counts and that is in the handling and mechanics. Not to mention the fact that graphically Driveclub completely owns...
It IS Geekman! Only an idiot would list games like Watchdogs, Destiny, and Call of Duty over GTA V, Farcry 4, Driveclub, Tombraider Definitive Edition, Etc. It just makes no sense.
All of PSN is down. This isn't a Driveclub issue.
That list is a joke. For one thing, why 9? What not do a top 10? Also it's Insane that they would list Watchdogs over GTAV. Also no Driveclub or Farcry 4? If I did the list it would look like this...
The Last of Us Remastered
Driveclub
GTA V
Resogun
Tomb Raider Definitive Edition
Farcry 4
Dragon Age Inquisition
Shadows of Mordor
Infamous Second Son/First Light
Little Big Planet 3
Final Fa...
Gimme a freaking break! With that attitude you will buy virtually nothing this generation unless you play Wii U games exclusively.
I find it strange that people who vehemently attack the merits of Driveclub sure do seem to spend an awful lot of time in threads dedicated to it. If your so dismissive of Driveclub why are you wasting your time? Are you that insecure about your own gaming preferences?
I don't think you have really seen Driveclub but your seeing eye dog probably has.
@guitarded77
I strongly disagree with you about Driveclub needing car setup. What for? The cars are already optimized equally so it comes down to knowing the tracks and developing your driving skills. Not every racing game needs a tuning system. Leave that for Project CARS, Forza, and Gran Turismo. If that is your preference then maybe this game isn't for you. But don't act like its a flaw in the game just because it doesn't cater to your personal preference...
I think it would be a mistake for Nintendo to try and get into the "arms race" with MS and Sony. They already tried that with the Gamecube and it failed miserably. I think they are better off continuing to try and carve out their own niche market while being profitable from day one.
What I predict they will do with their next console is attempt to erase the line between the handheld and console markets by designing a system that acts as both a portable and a home ...
