Absolutely! But I agree with what someone else said. December is too late to have it. Make it the weekend before Thanksgiving to build hype going into the holiday shopping season.
Agreed. No racing game NEEDS a rewind feature. That is the epitome of watering down gameplay IMO. You might as well say every game needs it because heaven forbid a game presents players with a challenge!
Agreed 100%!!!
IMO Driveclub is without question one of the most misrepresented, misunderstood, and mis-reviewed games of all time! I've been playing it non stop since launch and even WITH the online issues, the single player tour mode was so robust and challenging that I really didn't miss it all that much. The game is certainly challenging and it makes you earn everything you get. However it's equally rewarding. Graphically, it's unrivaled! It is IMO th...
Turn the tide? I'd say more like stopped the bleeding. 16 million consoles sold VS 9 million. I'm glad to see MS finally getting the X1 up to speed but let's not get too crazy here. Unless a miracle happens the X1 is destined for 2nd place this generation.
"Wicked, remember that they reviewed DC when it was broken and features not implemented yet."
You mean like when they reviewed a broken Halo MCC and still awarded it 9's and 10's?
The game is awesome guitarded and you're going to love it! Screw the "professional" reviewers. Graphically, it is simply unrivaled by anything right now. The gameplay is like the perfect balance between sim and arcade. The new weather effects are amazing and not just visually, the way it affects your car's handling is really good.
Still haven't pulled the trigger on this one. Have the bugs been eliminated?
Same here. I thought FH2's mechanics were garbage. The cars feel floaty and have no weight. I bought the damn game because review sites were falling all over themselves to give it 9's and 10's. I guess if you take a racing game with bad mechanics, make it open world and surround it with a barrage of seizure inducing pop up notifications and put it in a festive environment then that makes it a great game.
Exactly. It's not like the plus edition is the full game. It's one location and 10 cars! That's NOTHING in comparison to the full game. You can find the full game now for 35 bucks. A hell of a bargain for a killer next gen game.
I have news for you, the game was already good. The weather patch just puts in another level.
Personally I don't care if sights re-review it or not. I bought the game at launch and even with the early issues, I have had an absolute blast playing Driveclub and Evolution Studios continues to make it better and better! Also despite the poor reviews the game has actually sold pretty well and I look for another spike in sales when Evo finally does roll out the free Plus version.
If you ask me, the game that critics should re-review is Forza Horizons 2. After reading...
BattleTorn,
Private lobbies aren't possible yet but Evolution is working on it. As awesome as the game is, there's still a lot of room for improvement. Replay mode, private lobbies, driving assists (optional), the addition of a racing line (optional), more customization options, etc. There's a lot that can be added to make the game even better.
In my eyes, what Driveclub needs now more than anything is a racing line and/or the option to use driver assists. Once you get past Semi Pro level, the difficulty of Driveclub really spikes and I've sort of hit a wall with Tour Mode. Don't get me wrong, I still love the game and I play it almost daily. However I've given up on progressing in Tour mode because I can't get any further.
I think what has become quite obvious is that The Last Guardian as we saw it all those years ago no longer exists. They MUST have completely scrapped that original concept and started all over again. There's no other explanation as to why it has taken this long to get this game at least to a point where they can show it to the public.
I seriously can't wrap my head around this opinion...at ALL! I have both systems and the PS4 UI is way superior to the X1's tile/pin system. The PS4 UI is snappier, simpler, faster, easier to navigiate, less cluttered looking, etc.
I have played FH2 and to be honest, I didn't care for the handling in the game. It felt entirely too "floaty" to me and maybe it's just me, but it feels like there's some weird disconnect between the car and the road. It has that weird effect where the car is sitting still and everything moves around it instead of feeling the opposite. From a pure handling perspective, I find Driveclub to be superior.
Agreed! It's amazing to me that Evolution was able to throw in this high quality of dynamic weather and yet the framerate not take a hit whatsoever! It's such a buttery smooth framerate.
Yes it's more than worth it!
They're pretty much fixed. I have been able to log on for a while now and play online. Online challenges are up too. At this point the game is pretty much working as intended. The only thing really missing is replay mode which is supposed to come out sometime at the beginning of the year.
I was playing a single race this morning and I had the weather set to dynamic. The race started out in dry weather and then it switched to rain bout a lap or so into it. What really struck me about this was how I had to completely change the way I approached the race. The dynamic weather really forces you to change the way you approach the race from a handling/mechanics point of view. I don't think I've ever played a racing game before that put you in that position at least not righ...
