gaming with VR and gaming with PlaystationVR won't bet the same thing.
I like Phil Spencer and the job he's been doing as head of Xbox. However my God the level of hero worship for this guy among Xbox fans is getting almost ridiculous. It's like every time the guy opens his mouth, somebody has to write an article about it.
I don't think it will but the real question is, why does it matter? Both consoles are doing very well. One doesn't have to fail in order for the other one to succeed.
You do realize Castlevania, Contra, Double Dragon are not Nintendo properties right?
Until Nintendo shows me the following they will no longer get any money from me...
1.) They can develop a robust piece of hardware, capable of competing in the same arena as Sony and MS. It doesn't have to blow the competition away or anything, but it does need to be in the same ballpark.
2.) Overhaul their online infrastructure.
3.) Show that they can garner a healthy line up of 3rd party support.
Regarding symmetrical VS asymmetrical, I think it's the most ridiculous argument in gaming. I own both systems and I play lots of games with both controllers. You know what? They're both damn good for different reasons. I can play the Xbone controller for hours, put it down, and then pick up the DS4 and not miss a beat. I don't find a single advantage or disadvantage to either design. symmetrical sticks feel just as comfortable to me as asymmetrical.
Why is this considered PS4 related news?
It's a peripheral. You have to have a PS4 to use it, that makes it a peripheral. I don't give a shit how Sony is trying to market it.
Also I'm so tired of the use of the word "experiences." When did the term "games" become so out of fashion? Sony, just say you're waiting on the games!
Hey EA
horse......shit!!!
Since when is charging the controller something you have to "worry about?" Geez talk about sensationalizing something. When you're done playing you stick your controller on the cradle and bam! You're done and when you come back to play again it's fully charged and ready to go.
My god you're dumb!
God, I am so sick of this horseshit corporate jargon! Square, stop acting like the gaming public are full of idiots....well...OK the gaming public ARE full of idiots but that still doesn't make it right when you try to bullshit everyone. The bottom line is MS has timed exclusivity because 1.) You didn't want to compete head to head with Uncharted 4 and 2.) they wrote you a big fat check, end of story!
To me backwards compatibility is more about perception of value than anything. Realistically have I ever taken advantage of it? Not really. On my launch PS3 I played God of War 2, Shadow of the Colossus, and Resident Evil 4. After those, I was done. The new games started pouring in and left the previous gen behind.
Then buy the right console for that genre.
No other way to say it. This game fuckin' rules!
"I may get one eventually, but as of now. I simply can't have two consoles..."
Translation = "My wife won't let me have two consoles." :-D
Agreed. I've said for years that the decision to stick with the cartridge format instead of moving to CD-Rom was Nintendo's biggest mistake. Had they used CD-Rom they wouldn't have lost so much 3rd party support, especially from Squaresoft, Capcom, Namco, Konami, etc and probably wouldn't have lost so much of their SNES market share to Sony and the PS1.
The argument against long loading times for CD-Rom was so overplayed though. I had both systems back in the day and while the N64 cartridges were definitely faster loading, it didn't suddenly make the PlayStation seem unplayable. Especially when looking at the PS1's vastly superior 3rd party library of titles.
My favorite "what if" to play is, what if Nintendo decided to use the CD Rom format instead of cartridge for the 32/64 bit generation? Most likely they don't lose all the 3rd party support, particularly Squaresoft and Final Fantasy 7 and it most likely stays on the N64 instead of moving to the PS1.
Other than the private lobbies, I feel like all of these updates are getting into an order of diminishing returns. Evolution needs to announce a Season 2 with new tracks/locations.
