Going to 900p isn't going to suddenly allow the game to run at 60fps. There's a LOT more going on in this game that prevents 60fps besides resolution. At 60fps this would look like a very different game.
Honestly I don't even want a sequel. I just want them to announce a season 2 with more tracks/locations and cars. I don't think the game needs a sequel. They just need to continue to build on what they have already established.
The 60fps argument the author makes is stupid. The reason Driveclub's visual fidelity is so good is because they went with 30fps instead of 60. There's not a damn thing wrong with Driveclub's framerate. I think the game strikes the perfect balance between visuals and framerate honestly. Going from 30 to 60fps will only result in a downgrade in visuals.
Square will never get my money for this. I'll get it used on PS4.
Yes because tapping the Share button is SO much more laborious. Keep your voice commands. I'd rather push buttons than talk to my console like some damn fruitcake.
I thought the exact same thing! Looking at the render it looks like a blend of Hayden and Mark Hamill.
If no new locations I'd gladly settle for new tracks in existing locations!
Would definitely welcome new tracks/locations! I'd also love to see some city tracks like maybe downtown Tokyo, Toronto, Dubai, Paris, London, etc.
I really wish they would announce a Season 2 pass with new tracks/locations! I love this game but I'm getting pretty tired of these same tracks over and over.
@TXI,
It was a bloodbath. PS1 and PS2 even moreso destroyed their competition. PS3 was the anomaly because it launched a year later and was 100.00 more expensive than the competition. However in spite of that it still sold more than the 360 year over year once it launched and globally surpassed it in total sales.
So when someone asks what's behind the PS4 success...I'd say history.
The game already looked awesome on PS3. Other than the extra framerate I'm not sure what else could have been done to improve it.
The decision to stick with cartridges on the N64 instead of using CD-ROM was their biggest mistake IMO. It basically caused them to lose Squaresoft, which cost them Final Fantasy, which cost them Japan.
@uth11
Driveclub does this very thing to my PS4. I notice that the system fans work extra hard when I play Driveclub. My system gets loud! No other game I own does that to my PS4.
One of my biggest complaints with PSN is why are we forced to watch game trailers in shitty little preview windows instead of full screen? How can that be any kind of an indicator to a gamer who's looking at a game for the first time, trying to determine if it's something he or she would be interested in, if they have to view it in tiny little preview windows? Sheesh, make the streams full screen or give us the option to download the videos outright!
Your sense of entitlement is beyond ridiculous. You're getting exactly what Sony promised. The fact that you had to wait 8 extra months to play it, while unfortunate, is not the end of the freaking world. There are worse tragedies in the world.
You're getting exactly what Sony promised. Yeah it's a few months late, boo hoo. Shit happens sometimes you don't plan for.
@Satyre28
So where does that leave the early adopters who actually bought the game on good faith? I'm sorry but I don't get the logic of rewarding gamers for NOT buying your game.
Agreed 100%. I wish all makers of racing franchises would follow this business model. We don't need sequels to any one racing franchise within the same generation anymore. Just release your game and then support it for the duration of that particular generation with season passes. When a new generation starts, THAT'S the time to introduce a new version. I keep praying that Evolution Studios will announce a season 2 for Driveclub because frankly, that engine is perfect or damn near ...
Tell me about it LOL! All this "cloak and dagger" crap is beyond ridiculous. I am convinced that most "gamers" spend more time on the internet talking about shit than they do actually playing games.
I don't see how a sequel is a viable option either. In order to make a sequel, Evolution would have to go out and hire all new staff. Staff that they just let go less than a year ago. Why go to all that trouble and expense when they can just continue to support what's already been built and do so with minimal staff? It would be a lot more cost-effective to keep a smaller staff on hand to continue to release additional content than it would to put together a whole new staff to cre...
