I agree. No matter what the reviews say and how quickly it may get boring, for some people it'll be the greatest game ever made. For them it'll be an experience like no other and that's what great games are really about.
@Lonnie18
All those are great games, but they are still remakes,sequels, reboots or derivative except for rocket league (though that's a modern Ballblazer). I'm currently loving uncharted 4 but I keep on thinking 2 is better. I'll be picking up Overwatch for my Team Fortress hit. You do know that Ratchet is a HD remake of a PS2 game with the story buggered? Bloodborne isn't as good as Demon Souls. The witcher is the third in the series and is definitely the...
@ Lonnie18
I too have a currently very popular console 'of choice' that I enjoy playing games on. It is true that it has many more quality games coming out on it than the WiiU, shame they're almost all remakes, reboots, sequels or derivatives that lack the spark of fun and originality that their inspirations came from. Splatoon is a genuinely fun and different game in a saturated genre and it's your loss you can't, and probably never will, see that.
You should have seen the 70's and 80's. I was born late 60's and I'm still growing up.
I've been scarred for life by superman games. I can still smell superman 64....peeeuuuuuuwwwe!!!
Must be a quiet week for unsubstantiated NX rumours. I heard from a friend who works in building across the road from an unnamed developer that the NX is 101 times more powerful than a kettle.
The WiiU makes an excellent companion to my PS4 because each have quality games the other doesn't. I've really enjoyed the exclusives on both systems and neither system's OS are anywhere near perfect.
Banjo and Kazooie
Astronauts
Jet Force Gemini
Pretty sad copyrighting to have a mispellt word in the title. I don't know what they WERE thinking.
That's why I said 'my favourite' rather than the best. Universal assertions are immature and ignorant as we can only speak for ourselves.
Having played all Zeldas to completion, even the Game and Watch, my favourite is Links Awakening followed by Link to the Past and Wind Waker. But are they the best games of all time? No. Just great games.
Read 'Ready Player One'
It'll be right up your alley.
I agree. Having recently run emulations of old 8 bit games like Elite and mercenary highlighted how crap those games look today, yet back then they looked so real. Even more recent games like xwing v tie fighter and colony wars haven't aged too well either. Mind you, it looks like No Man's Sky will finally recreate the near 30 year old Starglider 2 experience of flying from planet to planet and down to their surface and even below without a load. Hopefully there's a whale in it to...
I love Nintendo and been playing their games since the days of Game and Watch, but I can see the writing on the wall for them. I'm a primary teacher and I can tell you now, virtually none of my students want a Nintendo product. It's all PS4, Xbox and to some extent PC.
This started to trend about 3 or 4 years ago and is becoming steadily stronger. Why? Mostly because their Dad or big brother plays the big franchises which dominated the last generation. Ten, eleven yea...
It does have 4 physical buttons. They're labelled F, A , K, E.
It would make sense if NX were VR based....
This is just patent trawling and companies patent all types of crazy ideas, sometimes they lead to better things or come into their own ten years later.
Odds on the NX will be a cheaper x86 console that'll use a standard controller and may be augmented with an iPad or phone for dual screen purposes (aka byo game pad) and improved networking.
I think if you look at what preceded the games then two stand out.
Super Mario Bros 3 was the first to ramp up the variety and challenge, followed by Super Mario64 with a 3D experience and analog giving greater freedom of movement. I personally think Mario64 hasn't aged as well as SMB3, but that's purely opinion.
If you were to look at the best playing SMB, then it is SMB 3D world with its variety, ease of pickup and play and co-op. That's the opi...
Well said. It'll have a lowish price point, be x86 and reasonably powerful to attract back the developers and publishers and will have some other USP to make it attractive to the public, such as being portable and/or being scaleable in some way.
Nintendo needs an audience prepared to listen to their offering and this will require a very explicit cost/benefit message to the market and the publishers.
@foxtrot
Clearly Nintendo have made some pretty poor choices and the poor sales of the WiiU is the result of them. However, I think your being a bit naive to criticise them based on their showing at E3.
With a new console launching next year, they have clearly shifted focus to the new console. Hence the lack of games on the floor. At the same time, until they actual show us what the NX actually is they can't show any games in development. E3 simply d...
