Can any Canadian's in the east coast confirm their PSN is back online?

Hehe, I don't even know if Canadians will be online tonight, but I'm still refreshing that map to see any states illuminated. It's just exciting, like watching the ball drop on new years eve.

Hope Canada is included as well.

When PSN goes back up, it should prompt you to change your password. The update is just a regular update which prepares your system for PSN's return. So far PSN is not back online, but soon hopefully.

Wow, just good news after the next today.

Guess this dude may've been right the whole time.

Yes PSN is still offline, but at least it's something. Better we get the update now and out of the way than when PSN is actually back up. I'm sure people won't want to be bothered by updating when they can be playin with their buds online.

At least PSN's got some vital signs.

Not sure if this was posted already, but my buddy sent me this vid which pretty much elaborates on this article. In addition, he guesses the PSN will be up for the public on May 14 [today], which I doubt, but you never know.

MINDJACK! It sounds like something that would be parodied by MADtv, lol.

Yeah, it was confusing for me too, I even had to wiki it just get up to speed. I guess games are not as simple as saving the princess anymore.

"This gen has solidified me as an old man who yearns for the golden days of gaming."

You and me both. I'm not too old, but no matter how old you are, things seemed much better in your youth and likewise, gaming was one of them for me.

The great thing about this generation is definitely the technology which allows us more realism with games but I feel it's missing that extra something that allows me to actually connect with the game.

I myself have been playing a bit MGS4 lately. No matter how many times I play that game, I still have fun with it. Lots of variations to play with such as stealth on/off, use lethal/non-lethal weapons, go rambo on their asses, don't use any weapons at all, cqc, hold-ups, drum rolls, set traps, face camo's, costumes, gain rebel's trust, kill rebels OR gain rebels trust then kill them, lol.

Fun times.

I would like some kind of official update from SONY themselves. I know they can't give a date, but at least let us know what type of progress they're making.

They're too quiet lately.

I must say it feels like we're all family sitting outside the waiting room, eager to hear some good news.

Come on PSN, snap out of your coma! xD

It's actually nice to see most people in brighter spirits, it helps during the recovering process.

Stay positive! ;)

@ claterz

So true unfortunately.

The past few weeks PSN was offline, I just took a look at my collection of about 20+ PS3 games and it's like, "Nope, nah, been there..." one after the next. Don't get me wrong, great games, but short-lived and not very re-playable more than twice, while others needed the online to be enjoyed after SP.

Jak and Daxter was awesome, one of my favorite action/platformers of its time. It was much m...

Thanks for the info.

I knew there was something like this, but didn't hear back anything on the matter, so I figured they cancelled the project. Too bad it didn't make it. Hopefully, they'll re-launch in the future.

Since trophies were introduced, I thought they would be converted into some type of points/reward system, which could be traded in for avatars, themes, vids, PS Home content, etc. That would give me more incentive to go for that platinum.

I wouldn't hold my breath on additional features such as a new XMB or cross-game chat when PSN goes up. What's important is security and safety for gamers and that's exactly what Sony is doing to get it up and running asap. Personally, the aesthetics can wait.
