I couldn't agree more chaostar. They've been on the ball with this game, and I certainly can't wait to play the full game when it's released.
@Frosty What you posted was actually false, and most likely a lulzsec red herring, since Adrian Lamo is the guy that reported Bradley Manning during the Wikileaks military data theft saga.

@Frosty The posting is false. Remember that Adrian Lamo was the guy who turned in Bradley Manning after the wikileaks Data theft.

That is a lulzsec red herring/nonsense.
There's just something about this that leaves a foul taste in my mouth. I just can't see how Disney could make use of SEAL Team Six... Ugh! Distressing thought.
Yes, in the rest of the world, nudity is less of a problem than violence. In fact, most of us are fine with nudity and sex, but overt violence makes us feel uneasy.
Ironically, in the US it seems it's OK to have blood and guts everywhere, yet the mere glimpse of breasts and a vagina is enough for the puritans to have convulsions. Strange country the US!
That's spot on Muerte2494, I think the hyperbole from "journalists" is something I just can't understand. On the one hand, Microsoft was given a free pass with the RROD issue(and still does), and yet Sony has always been battered this generation.
Yes I would go back to PSN, but fortunately I never used my real details anyways, and I used pay cards instead of a credit card (just a habit I developed after being burnt on xbl*).
*They kept on re-subscribing me to gold, and it took me ages and many phone calls to get my credit card details off their books (this was before Microsoft allowed you to delete your credit card details on their website).
I didn't have any problems with the controls since it plays similar to any of the sims games of the last decade (yet.. ironically, having more RPG freedom and depth than Dragon Age 2).
What irks me is that once you complete a Kingdom story arc (not the individual plot elements), your heroes are reset, and you have to start all over again in a new arc. It's a real shame, if you've invested (LITERALLY) days into your knight or King character only to have to restart ...
I couldn't agree more with this opinion piece. I've slowed down in my gaming, and try to experience as much of it before moving onto the next game. It's difficult though, because the next-must-have game is being hyped everywhere, and you're still playing the same game, but you really get more out of it, if you take your time and experience it to the fullest (and I don't mean just silly achievement whoring, just enjoying the story, the gameplay and even replaying it).
The way some gamers are carrying on, you'd think that xbox live has never been down before, or that the PS3 is bricked (because PSN is down). I wonder if they know that you can still play single-player games. I'm literally flabbergasted and amazed at this gen's gamers.
Sadly, just for the US, as always. :( It kind of gets to you after a while, all the good features are never released to you because of arbitrary geographical reasons.
I'm just amazed at what utter drivel is being approved these days.
It's rather ironic that it would be someone from Alabama suing. In other words, almost fulfilling the stereotype that Americans have "rabbit in their blood", when it comes to litigation. Kristopher Johns is also asking for monetary compensation and free credit-card monitoring. The latter might not be such a bad idea.
I just checked on the PSX-extreme site and they list the IP as 214.1.211.251. So it's typo on the site.
It could very well be authentic, if they thought the chat logs would be scrubbed, but I'm sceptical. I suppose we'll just have to wait and see how this plays out. Since, they've committed a federal crime, this will be under the FBI's jurisdiction, and even if they are foreigners, given the scale, if unmasked, these kids will face jail time.
If the premise of the article is based on an unsubstantiated claim, how can it be termed "the REAL reason behind PSN's outage"? This is merely speculation and conjecture, which ultimately adds nothing but generate cheap hits for the site and panic amongst gamers.
I've also been keeping myself busy with SP games. I suppose much like many others, I have a serious backlog catalogue of games which I've made a nice dent in this weekend. In a way, it has made for a nice change to quick-and-frantic multiplayer gaming.
I don't think it's a maturity issue, since gamers on both major consoles have acted poorly in the past, however I believe PS3 gamers are more sympathetic to Sony given the events leading up to the outage (by the actions of Anonymous and their attacks on Sony).
The real losers in this regard is Anonymous who have had their stock plummet in the hearts and minds of gamers around the world (and for good reason). I have to admit, it's been a poor showing from the V ...
In addition, Old Republic would be entering the market on the good will and pleasant memories of KOTOR (which has to be said was one of the finest Star Wars games ever created). I just hope it doesn't get compared to World of Warcraft, or is cast as a WOW-killer, because Old Republic has to stand on its own feet as a MMO.
Amen brother, I've only gotten into one Standard match so far... YES! ONE!!, and that was day 1, when presumably the dedicated servers were still live. Now, I'm left battling bots (and hoping that one of my mates will log on so that I can at least play against a person) and getting the same stupid message about "not finding any suitable matches" ARE YOU KIDDING ME EPIC? 3400 people playing in my area, and I can't find ONE SUITABLE MATCH?
Bah! At least my...
