Something curious happened in South Africa, over the last 20 years... the black middle class grew, and with it, the number of black gamers.
The majority of South African gamers aren't white bud. While local devs are mostly white (not sure why there aren't more black devs), black gamers are very well represented.
PS: I'm black and South African.
I couldn't have said it better. Not to mention, there's no way they could have finished this game so soon (under 2 days?) and give it a credible review.
Sessler is just sour. There's no way in hell he could have finished this game in time for a review. There's no way. This is a hatchjob by a known Microsoft Shill and astroturfer. I give Adam Sessler 1/10.
Can't we just ban this retard called Adam Sessler from N4G?
I will let occam's razor guide me. Now, I can appreciate the sanctity of an opinion. I'll even gladly accept that somewhere in some distant parallel universe your opinion is valid, however something tells me you have yet to play The Last of Us.
That's a shame Pittoo, because you're missing out on one of the best games of the last two decades. Ah well, carry on trolling...
I can see a lot of tears on launch day, as casual gamers discover that the xbone is a gimped DRM-heavy TV remote.
Only if hell freezes over. NO! HELL NO!
Sadly the recession is still holding firm, I think the best guess so far is that we'll only see an improvement from 2015, and even that might be too optimistic with some even hinting 2020.
Well, there's a few seconds of my life, I'll never get back. The PS4 hasn't even been released and already the game "journalists" are churning the anti-Sony pot.
It seems very little has changed, except... add-blocker was enabled. So suck on that coinarcade. You're getting no revenue off my clicks.
I for one support our would-be North Korean masters, and any attempt to blacken the name of Activision gets a thumbs up from me. Thank you, Kim Jong Un, the west will learn that you are truly your father's son...
Most regrettable gaming purchase?
Hardware:
Xbox 360 (went through 5 of this POSs)
Wii (used it once)
Software:
Homefront (Just terrible)
Skyrim (So boring)
Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2
Call of Duty Modern Warfare 3 (didn't learn my lesson till MW3)
Call of Duty 3 World at War
Tony Hawk's Ride
The one thing I'm not looking forward to is every Sarah Wannabe Gaming Journalist and Tim Blogs ranting and raving about features that we probably won't even see at release. For the last time, filing a patent does not mean that it will become a feature. Nintendo has been toying with the idea of console-locked games since the 80s and 90s. Microsoft was also rumoured to be interested in locking purchased games to consoles.
I'm really not looking forward to anoth...
Because Microsoft are a bunch of stingy bastards. They're yet to give out anything for free. Not even free avatar gear. Nothing...
That's rich coming from Mr Gimmick himself. Oh Peter... how far you have fallen!
To be honest, Mass Effect was never really an RPG (and more like an action adventure game with RPG elements). That became especially evident in the second game. It's also clear that Bioware is trying to emulate Gears of War.
While that in itself is not necessarily a bad thing, it is sad to see a once celebrated role-playing developer churning out substandard RPG fare (Dragon Age 2) or generic (albeit enjoyable) action-adventure or third person shooters (Mass Effect).
US is not the world, and the title needs to be changed. Someone has already commented that "in the US" should be added, and I agree completely. The NPD logo is not enough, and what ultimately draws you to their website is the title of the article.
I've reported the submission. As it stands, it's clearly intended for flamebait and clicks.
Dark Souls is such an incredible game. If I had to take one game to a desert island, it would definitely be it. I'd probably lose my mind in the process but that's ok.
Given what Blackwater is and knowing what they've done in the Middle East and abroad (with allegations of running child pornography rings, assassinating and torturing civilians and effectively running like a criminal operation), I'm surprised that Microsoft would even green light this game.
My theory is that only the US (probably whole of North America) has dedicated servers, whereas the rest of us in Europe, Asia, Australia and those in Africa like Witwolfy are left to play on p2p servers.
Seriously mate, after ONE WEEK, I have only been able to get into ONE match, and that was day one. So far, I get the same stupid message about "not being able to find suitable matches"... but HEYYYY! I at least get to grind against bots huh? Wohoo 30 K/D ratio here ...
It won't be that high. Most likely, we're talking about between 500 to 2500. I seriously doubt Sony would send 50 000 launch consoles to South Africa. We're not a huge territory, even though we do have a fair number of gamers.
