I play a lot of Dota 2, so in my mind The International is the greater of the tournaments. Is it fact? No it's all subjective and based on personal preferences.
It was always the lack of a L1 and R1 (LB/RB) on the original Xbox controllers that got me. Who on earth thought the white and black buttons was a good idea? Especially with the Dual Shock being a thing for years.
What are you on about?
Dark souls 2 did not get a Pro patch, it's just one of the games that responds well to boost mode being enabled.
Right because Madden's the one that makes more money! Wait? Isn't that FIFA? Oh right it is.
What?
The market is larger than the people on the internet complaining.
So that guy who goes 1-14 in CoD or the guy with 500 points and 30 deaths in Battlefield was part of my same skill bracket? Matchmaking does not create competitive games. 1 in 10 games is a nail biter, the rest are blow outs.
You're all crazy if you think they aren't constantly adjusting matchmaking along all kind of variables. You're extra crazy if you don't think they prioritize connection and location more. Matchmaking does not create competitive games, n...
@XiNatsuDragnel
Are you 13!? You can't possibly be that stupid. This is how we got neck deep in DRM and everyone having their own PC store front. Man, what a magnificent level of ignorance and stupidity wow.
@OB1
So giantbomb are clowns because they don't fawn over PlayStation conferences? Do you need someone to stroke your ego all the time? Or only when it involves a plastic box and a corporation?
You're insane if you think current matchmaking is fair and competitive. That being said changing or mixing up skill levels you're matched with is not a new system.
If you're gaming competitively you are playing with team mates, not randoms.
Or just don't play the game? Piracy numbers just tell EA there is interest in their product. Regardless of your motive, EA will view it the same.
And how on Earth do you figure GB isn't/can't be a reference?
@foxtrot
Uh huh.
Why don't you wait to see how it's implemented? Instead of going all knee jerk immediately? If it's just Avatar props, then what's the issue? It kinda seems like you're making mountains from mole hills.
Crysis did some very interesting things, it's performance issues had nothing to do with optimization.
The truest of true, true gamers do this. I mean what are you if you don't? Some kind of person made of bandwidth? Made of disks? Made of Cat 6 wire AND disks!? You do realize just like a disk if you purchased the game it can be redownloaded.
Maybe instead we should be arguing that publishers need to get better deals where regardless of lost rights the games can remain for sale? This "true gamers do X" has to be the most cringe N4G can cringe.
@rude-ro
The same straw man argument can be applied to anyone in the gaming space. Your irrational attachment to a corporation and a plastic box is showing.
People who refuse to even consider owning Y or Z console are deranged. None of you are getting a fan award, no one's thanking you for this.
You can't say all games are 60fps on Y platform, it doesn't work that way. Look at it this way, if Naughty Dog were to scale back visuals they could make Uncharted 4 run at 60fps on a base PS4. The issue is, most people would prefer all the visual flash over 60fps. Publishers and developers will continue to push visual fidelity over frame rates.
Esports has been around for what 20 years now? The whole thing has only grown with time and the viewership on things like Twitch kinda bears that out. This isn't like the NHL trying to gather a stronger image in the US, the people who watch professional gamers aren't going to choose to watch Evo or The International on ESPN when a streams available or in Dota's case can be watched from within the client. They're also a group that has the potential to grow as more people grow u...
