To be fair, it's not the easiest game to play on any platform other than the ones they launched on.
Anyone who says playing old games on new hardware is bad is dumb, plain and simple. Anyone willing to paint an entire group of people negatively based on the posters on N4G? Kinda dumb to.
What about the shmucks that post stuff like what Ageinthecage posted in the first place? Let's just break down that kernel of insecurity right there.
Ohh how times have changed since Jeff's Drive club review.
I have no doubt in my mind about the quality of GoW, I'm very excited to play it. I just wanted to point out how, when these kinds of reviews were coming in for Zelda and Mario the comments were generally covered in people claiming it was overrated. What makes a review legitimate? What makes it pandering?
The games rendering at 4k, it's not upscaling from 480p. Your Silent Hill argument isn't helping the argument one bit, the game runs at 480i it's not running at 4k so of course upscaling that doesn't look like a native 4k image.
The whole game installs from the disc, none of the game runs off the disc. After installation the only thing the disc does is verify its the game it says it is. It's the same on both the PS4 and XB1, the load times off the 5400rpm HDDs are already atrocious loading any portion of the game off the disc would be nightmare fuel.
The disk drive, even the UHD drive in a One X is one of the cheaper components. Part of the reason for consoles still having a disc drive is "why not for the price?" And large swathes of people don't have access to 25mbps+ internet. They're not going to tool more manufacturing lines, on a sku that does the same thing but doesn't have a disk drive and then price it at a different lower price point. It doesn't make sense from a material or consumer perspective.
It's the first three PS1 titles.
They're PS1 games, they're simpler games but definitely worth going back to.
Or...or... We let people do what they want with their money, because at the end of the day who the hell are you to tell someone how they should spend their money?
I like physical too, I was disappointed there was no physical release of A way Out. But c'mon dude, if someone's all in on digital, then that's their deal.
The clarity in signage, foliage tells a different story. It's pretty easy to tell the difference, for me. That all being said if a game running at 1600p is something that you find looks great (it does! Certainly better than 1080p) then that's awesome, why worry about what other people believe or think? There's no conspiracy here, they're just games.
He basically claims to be an adult(nes ownership), yet finishes his statements with "lol!" And makes a dig at people's financial situations or how they pay for newer hardware.
Sounds like a child to me.
This site, oh my God this bloody site! It's the best implementation of BC since the launch models of the PS3. Pop the disk in and go, no one's forcing anything on anyone. Like if BC isn't a concern to you, why even come into the article? Why write a comment? What do you possibly gain from making yourself look like an idiot?
Translation: "I was 3 when the Xbox and PS2 came out"
Nobody EVER said backwards compatibility was a replacement for newer games. It's just an awesome feature to have and personally, it makes me feel a bit more comfortable purchasing digital spftware. Having at least some hope that the future Xbox consoles will carry your collection forward is a huge plus.
But you know "hurrr durrr no gaems"
Everything here needs a winner and a loser, there are no shades of grey here.
That uhh... Doesn't make any sense. They're functionally the same.
You referenced Far Cry 5, to lampoon indie developers. Good show.
Thanks for that riveting story. No one developing a game owes the platform holders a dime unless contractually obligated. Like, do you really think Insomniac OWES something to Sony? That's like saying Bungie owes everything to Microsoft, it's a ridiculous statement.
Also just pointing out Death Stranding is using the Decima Engine. The engine developed by Guerrilla Games and used in KZ Shadow Fall and Horizon Zero Dawn. Death Stranding isn't going anywhere other...
The Witcher 1 doesn't play like 2&3, they won't port that. It's a mouse and keyboard game.
He has some kind of weird fixation with a plastic box. Don't engage with insane people.
