***"how does that mean cheating will be eliminated just because the 'blades are in a data center'?"***

Stadia users do not have access to local "client" side hardware so are unable to install hacks.

Maybe we should email the GRID devs and tell them to swap out the Stadia Blades for PS3's.

***"Why is the Call of Duty Survival mode exclusive to PlayStation?"***

Because Sony paid for it.

I KNOW that some games support 40 players already, PUBG is doing 100 players, whilst Battlefield 4 supported 64 players almost seven years ago on current gen platforms.

The point is, the GRID dev is saying that the Stadia architecture can support more players than other platforms, you're not ar...

The network demand shouldn't be any greater than streaming a 1080p or 4K YouTube video, with the exception of a tiny overhead for controller input traffic.

Fair play to you though, at least you understand the concept of what I'm talking about.

There are other benefits - for example due to all the blades being located in data centres -client side cheating will become a thing of the past, bad connections will no longer ...

I've told you how it works.

If it were possible for devs to implement the same level of GRID multiplayer on other platforms, then please tell me why they haven't - it seems to me this would be a major selling point for their game, no?

***"I bet my computer could handle it"***

It's nothing to do with the power of your computer, OR the power of Stadia.

The reason it's possible for Stadia to support more players in online modes Vs other platforms is because all instances of the Stadia server blades are located in the same data centres.

Essentially it's like one huge LAN party.

Try it next year when the standard version launches. It's free so you're not at a loss.

Demos and some free trials of games will certainly be available because Google will want people to at least give it a go.

There's no downloads so even if you just use Stadia to trial a game that you eventually buy on another platform, you have nothing to lose....

In my opinion the absolute best part of Death Stranding is the asynchronous multiplayer aspect of the game. I think it's a part of the game that early reviews did not play enough attention to, most likely due to the fact that the player base for reviews prior to the games release was probably much smaller than the numbers playing since Friday.

I literally spent six hours yesterday foregoing the story and simply gathering resources and building ro...

I think the 50% they are referring to is PS NOW market share taken from the Superdata numbers (which have been shown to be inaccurate), not the percentage install base that subscribe to the service, which you are right in saying is around 1%.
