Okay, okay... they make what, between $5 and $15 per console sold. THat's basically nothing considering they make that per $60 GAME.
Actually, retailers don't make a dime off of console hardware... your other points are very true though. Also, research costs money. There is also the fact of the combined GPU and CPU chip. You have the manufacturing of this specialized chip, but you also have the time and money it costs to get two completely separate companies to work on them/it with you to come together and combine the chips.
I don't know. Why did EA dumb down Battlefield 3 from the PC version for current consoles???
LOL you think having more RAM means nothing will get sacrificed? Money and time are the top most limiting factors in anything including game design and development.
If my wallet can handle it... I'm looking forward to Tomb Raider, God of War, SimCity and Luigi's Mansion. Bioshock and Castlevania Mirrors might have to get pushed back into next month.
EDIT: shiiiiit forgot about Lego City.... LOL
SECOND EDIT: aaaaand GoW Judgement....
Why???? Really!? LOL
You'de have to think about the possibility that new games might not fall in price as fast since they no longer have to compete with used game prices... The value sticks longer without used games.

That's 40 GB not 40 Gb....sorry, but that's a big annoyance of mine. GB = Gigabytes and Gb or gb = gigabits
Amazing someone else realizes clock speed doesn't mean much on its own. However, the Core2 Duo didn't replace the Pentium 4. There was the Pentium D and Core Duo before the Core2 Duo.
Also, comparing one console's CPU clock speed to another STILL doesn't mean much.
CPU clock speed doesn't mean much... especially in a console, but trying to compare one CPU's clock speed with another doesn't mean anything...

Put the pieces togather and you'll basically know. PS3 games (digital or retail disc) have already been confirmed to NOT work on PS4. They would LIKE for ALL PS1, PS2 and PS3 games to stream over Gaikai in the future to not only the PS4, but phones, tablets and Vita. Do you think you WON'T have to repurchase? How else will you stream these games??? Free?!?!
You'll be able to stream legacy games to the PS4 through Gaikai/PSN. Either you'll purchase each game separately, or maybe they'll have a subscription-based system (or both).
I've seen others wonder if placing the disc in the PS4 would allow you to stream it through Gaikai. Personally, I don't see this happening. This would mean that you could trade games back and forth between people. Sony doesn't want this.
If you own a game on disc, you'll have to repurchase it again to play it on PS4 through Gaikai
Until it breaks... then what?
I always hate seeing and reading what these general news outlets say and write about gaming news.
"...Will Be Having..."
It's just Will Have. I love how these types of grammar mistakes always get byspassed...
Nintendo is publishing Bayonetta 2. It can only go multiplatform if the contract is written up in such a way that the rights dissappear after a certain time frame. You could see it released next gen on all consoles digitally possibly, but I doubt it. I'm pretty sure Nintendo has this one completely tied down. Rayman Legends was simply Ubisoft deciding to release it exclusively on Wii U, and then changing their minds.
I'm sure there will be a new island or two to discover...
You also can't move on without knowing where you came from....
