Debatable. All that tech and where did they put it? Into rendering a city we've all seen before. They talked about 'vertical' gameplay but there's only so much scaffolding the God damned map maker can handle. Every fucking level there's scaffolding. Cause you know what totally makes up for the amount of horizontal space of the first one?

Fifteen feet of scaffolding.

Good call guys.

Considering mods can take years to make I don't think anyone's gonna be missing mod tools for a series with cycles of only a year. By the time one mod got released for black ops we'd be on CoD 14.

It's more the idea. This was a PC game, it's always been a PC game. And you know what timed exclusives feel like? It feels like being the fifteenth guy at a qeue in a gang bang. I don't want no one's fuckin' second hand game.

I don't care who gets it or when, I may be a PC fanboy but in my opinion it's all just a matter of taste. Where I get bitter though is when the PC community pumps money into franchises making them financially stable enough to...

Dear stainless steel,

1) Make it 360 exclusive and I'll kill you in your sleep.

2) Replace humans with zombies and see above.

3) Make it open, like the original. That's what really made carmageddon stand out. It was the fact that they gave you a huge fucking map with loads of detail and cool little easter eggs. Like in the second one where if you got the granite power up you could crash into an oncoming plane and crash it into the r...

This is a press release. It's the first 12 hours of gameplay, not the full thing. The crysis 2 leak was a little bigger cause it was the full game. Not that it makes a difference, piracy doesnt steal from sales like everyone thinks but that wont stop square Enix blamin pirates if their game fails.

If someone is going to buy the game then they're gonna buy it. Those who pirate are gonna do so because they want to and if they can't pirate it then they're never ...

Gearbox sent a severed head around to some journalists recently as a publicity stunt. I'd say there's about a 90% chance it's going to make an appearance. Gearbox has 3 things on their plate atm - DNF, aliens and borderlands 2.

DNF is shipping, and all they've said about bl2 is "yeah we'll do it at some point, we love the game and we wanna go back there, definitely."

So it's pretty much aliens or broke.

I know a lot of girls who like to play games but honestly, none that I'd call gamers. It's strange but if I had to take a guess I might say it's something to do with the visual cues necessary to perceive and hence play games effectively. 3D spatial awareness is something boys develop at a much earlier age and are more likely to aggressively pursure matters that involve it.

K'nex, lego, little mini DIY sets and so on. I think one of the biggest and most popular...

I know it's a bit of a trope but shouldn't E.T be in there as well?

I think...that you should maybe....stop using ellipses...as makeshit... punctuation. You know... commas work...just as well...right?

Also...can't really judge quality...till we've played...it. Let's be...honest... we all want...this game to...rock. So why not...stay a little...optimistic.

And if...we're putting out old games we'd....like to see rebooted...I'm gonna....say carmageddon.

Also is it just me or does that actually sound pretty damned awesome?

Gameplay features circa 1996 - massively intricate levels with huge levels of interactivity, exploration, and detail. Guns that shrink, freeze, and rapid fire rockets.

Gameplay features circa 2011 - taking one's self too seriously. Chest high walls. Angsty leads. Forced stealth sections. Unnecessary open world hubs. Ineffective iron sights. Giving first person shooters pointless RPG el...

Honestly? I don't give a shit. There are better things to waste energy on than writing an article that has been written close to a thousand times over the span of thirteen years.

Will duke nukem forever live up to a dev time of nearly fifteen years? No. 3D realms did not start making this game and say "hey guys, let's take fifteen years and we'll use all of that constructively". But frankly, who gives a shit?

This vaporware legend is co...

Lmao. EXACTLY what I was thinking. Games like bulletstorm, witcher 2, and metro 2033 show that you need more than just a mean engine. You need a mean art department as well and honestly for what the cryengine can do i feel like crysis 2 was a major let down. Some of the custom maps for crysis show how incredible it can be with creative and potent art direction.

There's not much I actually really remember from crysis 2 :/ a falling bridge. A falling building and a floatin...

Nice.

When I said that I kind of assumed we'd be working with more than three brain cells and staying in the realm of logic. Of course that's not always the case.

There is a relationship between input and movement. Whilst movement must be minimized input should always be maximized. Oh wait, I forgot who I'm dealing with. You'll probably point out how the next logical step is to write the fucking game yourself.

Let's just say that there's a ...

He's always on the ball, fair play. Even though I actually love Brink.

The only thing I will say about yahtzee, he's at risk of having his own voice listened to a bit too much. i.e. he's getting a bit too popular. Anyone who gets popular solely based on doling out their opinions will inevitably up their confidence and lift that little built in 'don't talk bullshit filter' we all have.

The daily mail should be printed with a special dye that sterilizes you around about the third issue you buy.

We'll see a substantial jump in the quality of the human genome fast enough.

Kinect my ass, control devices should minimize movement not maximize it. Emulating the actions performed on screen in real life may seem like a great way to enhance immersion but you're actually widening the gap between mental impulse and in game reaction. That gap needs to be as small as possible, I highly fucking doubt that a hardcore tactical shooter will benefit from me having to fling my fat ass around my living room like a 4 year old with a plastic toy gun.

Oh wait...
