Like I said before, bethesda are releasing mod tools on day one and on the disc, so frankly port from the consoles or not, it doesn't matter. Because the pc modding community has a hell of a reputation for making the elder scrolls series a much more engaging experience with mods.

Somewhere in a parallel universe there's a place where corporate politics don't shit all over the end user. Where exclusives don't exist, where apple embraces flash, where I can play borderlands with my mate who owns a 360, where infinity ward still makes Call of Duty's and are given more than fifteen minutes notice to create one, half life's story arc made sense, and duke nukem forever came out eight years ago.

Alright, alright, so the last few don't...

I simply disagree with your opinion of what constitutes a genius. It's pretty much defined as someone who is exceptionally intelligent or creative and I'd say Carmack nails both of those with his hands tied behind his back. He's an amateur rocket scientist who wins hundreds of thousands of dollars with his creations and gave us 3D gaming.

In an age where 3D real time visuals are fast approaching a limit as to realism this guy steps forwards and STILL makes ground...

We already have superheroes. From masterchief to bulletstorm to singularity, the bulk of games have you play as some sort of heightened or super powerd human. And if you consider that batman is a super hero without super powers then we can factor in Lara Croft, Duke Nukem, Serious Sam, Gordon Freeman and so on.

Prototype and Infamous only seem like superheroes because their gameplay apes the gameplay of the standard super hero game, (spider man series mainly). The devs pretty...

A little more quake wouldn't go amiss with me either thinking about it. Although no more vehicular sections, please.

Doom 4. I don't really mind what comes after that.

Bit concise but it was still a cool read. Carmack is known for being to the point and a little uncompromising on the technical side of things. I really appreciate the 60fps design choice on rage, I think we're damn close to hitting a bench mark on visual quality so it can't hurt to maybe step back that one or two per cent and just make a game that really FEELS amazing.

Whether Rage is any good though will be an interesting point. Id have come a long way and so has th...

Walked up to the nearest skyscraper, pressed 'E' and the door didn't open.

Fuck you crytek, fifteen feet of scaffolding was not what I was thinking when you prattled on about 'vertical play'. With all the expansive ways you could have pushed crysis 2 after hitting the graphical benchmark you decide to go linear? Every eighteen months technology doubles in power and with all that power you could have gone destructible environments, fully realized city land...

I feel like this was a case of bad wording on his behalf regarding the stats thing. There's definitely behind the scenes stats I just don't think they want it to be at the forefront of the player's mind whilst they play. Bethesda have always been about the world, everything else takes a back seat to giving us a virtual world which we can either dive into and become part of or desperately try and break.

Thing is though that immersion inevitably gets broken if you&#...

This looks like it. Thirteen minutes of E3 skyrim footage, so unless there's two of these floating around this should be it.

"It is a huge fantasy game where you can do whatever you want."

As opposed to a linear first person shooter set in the elder scrolls series?

"Do you know the definition of insanity?"

Well, EA, do you? Because this is like what? The nine thousandth fucking Need for Speed.

Frankly I'd prefer borderlands 2 but I wouldn't mind so bad if I felt as though fans of gearbox's work were being satisfied. After all brothers in arms came first, so those longer term fans deserve some service too, but from the looks of it this trailer has gone down like a lead balloon with BIA fans. So it just feels as though the sequel to my favourite game is getting delayed for a game that nobody really wants...

It's like if you're gonna watch your wif...

Firstly it's CGI, it looks like CGI and is evidently CGI. If it looks horrible that's because it's CGI that's ALMOST there but isn't quite. I don't get how you think they'd take a photo that looks horrible, not really how photos work.

Secondly congratulations we all know you're at least eleven years old, what the fuck do you want? A medal? The fact that you've played an eleven year old game on a specific platform entitles you to nothing. T...

While there was definitely a jump in quality between what we were promised and what we got I wouldn't say far cry 2 was a really bad game. I actually really enjoyed it.

Far cry 2 has aged shockingly well for a game that didn't leave me in ecstasy for the first time around. It's a a good game and I hope the sequel will realize the potential. I felt as though they really fucked up by having such a powerful and fun map maker but limiting you to multiplayer only. How hard would npc spawning have been to put in?

:( borderlands 2? Don't get me wrong I trust gearbox to produce a quality title, as they so often do, and it must be nice for them to return to one of their original and beloved franchises...and I respect that as their right as a creative team but fuck me would I prefer borderlands 2.

Yeah, what else are the devs of the game going to say?

"yeah we can't really be bothered to top our last effort so this is a sort of a half arsed attempt. Don't expect much."
