"60dollars for what?" how about a great value for money games pack.
I can't remember a game that has ever amazed me as much as Portal - it totally turns the usual game thought process on it's head.
TF2 is fun hellafun online and "boring" is the last word I would use to describe it.
Lots of console users won't have played HL2 yet simply because it is old - that doesn't make them a tard. Also for an old game it holds up pretty we...
Our local supermarket had sold out of whole chickens at the weekend - we were hoping to cook some roast chicken but we had to but a beef joint instead.
So chicken > beef.
Chicken FTW - it might not taste as good as beef but it has much more recipies at the moment.
Why are people are so upset about the Ps3 not having backwards compatibility?
Sony's Phil Harrison (05/12/2006):
"Backwards compatibility, as you know from PlayStation One and PlayStation 2, is a core value of what we believe we should offer. And access to the library of content people have created, bought for themselves, and accumulated over the years is necessary to create a format. PlayStation is a format meaning that it transcends many devices -- PSOne, PS2, and...
There are 10 types of people in the world. Those who understand binary and those who don't.
So Oblivion and Grand Theft Auto aren't games?
Having levels or not doesn't generally make a game better or worse - it depends on the genre, context and also how the developers want the pace and progress of the game to feel.
As mentioned in the article, Portal is totally suited to levels as are some FPS like the Call of Duty series because most of them jump from one campaign or setting to another to give the player more variety. Whilst this might spoil the conti...
"Reviewers play it safe. To appease the larger install base which is 360 at the moment. So of course 360 will get the higher ratings. Combine that with strong viral marketing from Micro$hit and mainstream reviewers like IGN and Game$pot getting a paycheck under the table.
PS3 will start pumping out games that reviewers cant deny. MGS will receive 10/10/10/10 across the board and theres nothing any Bot can do about it."
So because the Wii has now sold mo...
Just stop, take a deep breath and actually read the snippet above.
Actually just read the title of the page you're looking at: "13 hours in". In does not mean finished.
"13 hours in I feel like I've barely scratched the surface. In the time it took me to finish Call of Duty 4 all I'd done is finish the tutorial, and pottered round the hub area chatting to the excellently depicted inhabitants."
So just to re-cap if there's anyo...
So when me + friends used to compete to see how high we could spit up a brick wall, that was actually a sport? We should have given out medals! :)
The Dictionary definition of 'sport' that the article quotes is out-dated - it doesn't have to be a physical activity an more and as he said 'you dont break a sweat playing games'. No you don't, but neither do you shooting at the Olympics and that's definitely a sport and all it requires is to pull a trigger.
And god f...
...and todays 'Didn't read the article and even totally misunderstood the title' award goes to: tholgar. It's not a 15 hour game. From the article, after 13 hours he's barely played most of the game:
"13 hours in I feel like I've barely scratched the surface. In the time it took me to finish Call of Duty 4 all I'd done is finish the tutorial, and pottered round the hub area chatting to the excellently depicted inhabitants."
Why will he shut his mouth if 360 copies outsell PS3? That means more money for him and his company. Am I missing something here - he hasn't actually bashed the 360. Here, he's just saying that it's more difficult to code around the 'closed' Live system for mods - sounds like the main reason for the delay to the 360 version.
Interesting question the interviewer brought up - he quite rightly wants the MOD writers to recoup money for their work, but only through console downloads...
Just reading the title and the number of comments I was sure this would be another fully fledge pointless flame war by now, but no.
Well done guys, I'm proud of you!
Two games, two good scores, two games worth buying.
"There hasn't been a Bioware game that sold more than a touch over a million copies. My prediction is that even with a great score it will barely hit 2 million copies sold."
StarWars KOTR, Baldurs Gate 2, Neverwinter Nights - approx 2 million copies sold each. Actually a lot of them seem to consistently sell this well so you might be right. 2 million sold is a good number by the way.
Heh so this is how the multi-path dialogue will work.
"That was incredible".
A. "So you were you"
B. Teenagers can't read this line if they've been fapping too much
C. "Let's go again"
I guess that makes sense, being so long after GOW and using the same engine - they're probably building on the knowledge and routines that the GOW team gained.
One puzzling thing though, why does this news mean that PS3 fans all try to bash the 360?
Have you actually considered that the 360 version will look exactly the same as the PS3 one?
PS what is this "1st gen, 2nd gen" that people are talking about?
[edit] oops - replied to the wrong comment
Only 3 360 titles in the top 30. Also no PS3 at all? Japan should be renamed Nintendoland.
PS 127 million people in Japan, so isn't 10-20,000 games sold per week quite low? How does that compare to other countries? Positions 4-10 range from 10 to 20,000 or so.
EA do actually write or publish quite decent games that aren't 'recycled' sports games or simply subpar:
Skate
Medal of Honour: Airbourne
Half Life: Orange Box
Command & Conquer 3
I dunno, Eastenders sandbox game where you have to make as much money as possible could be interesting - either get a job, wheeling and dealing or just plain dirty crime.
If a Friends game came out where you could bludgeon the characters to death with a variety of objects then I would buy that too.
My ideas for bad games from TV shows:
* Wombles - slowly wandering around Wimbeldon common picking up litter for points
* Big Brother - l...
Crazzyman you're just digging yourself into a deeper hole. You completely missed out the highest selling 360 game from the article to try and prove that 360 only buy FPS and now we've pointed it out you're saying 'LOL only 1 out of 5?'?
PS here's a list of non-FPS 360 games that have sold over 1 million copies each:
* Fight Night 3
* Gears of War
* The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion
* Crackdown
* Saints Row
* Lost Planet: Extreme Co...
The other day I saw a 'making of' documentary for the Lord Of The Rings movies in a shop. You know what I did? I didn't buy it.
I didn't feel the need to complain about this online though, so what's the big deal with the same sort of thing on the Marketplace? If you don't want to buy it, don't.
