If only NT wasn't so arrogant in most of their past interviews (mostly Antoniades, I know), and if they only told fans that, "Dante won't have silver hair by default, but you'll be excited about our unlock bonuses.", unlock bonuses include, of course, switching to Dante's silver hair, then fans would've looked forward to this game instead of hated it at the onset.
Still, kudos for NT for garnering rave reviews on this game. I hope they can also s...
I think we just need to wait until this really gets approved for this to show up there. Great post though!
I clicked on approve. Guys, please click on approve.
Edit: Now this game is awesome!!!
I also played the demo and didn't like it. This doesn't mean that this game is automatically bad for all people, with all the positive reviews and all. However, call me 'traditional' but I really can't play as the new Dante for some apparent reasons. The 'bad-ass' attitude of the new Dante over the old Dante's playful but almost wholesome manner doesn't sit well with me.
Congratulations to NT for garnering great reviews so far. My money goe...
How I wish the good old DQ7 and DQ8 games. DQ7 was melodramatic and well paced while DQ8 was very coherent and outstanding overall. I'm not a portable gamer so I passed on 9. And don't get me started with MMO; I just don't get paying monthly just to play a game that you already paid for.
I hope that MMOs next-gen would all be Free-to-Play, but would require microtransaction for some items and such.
I hope that on PS4 we get DQ11 as a high-def JRPG...
I agree. It appears Square truly shines when they only focus on one console for their main series. Optimization is key when making such a big game like this. They can minimize bugs this way and just code one game.
But alas, game developing costs are rising and SE believes multiplatform is the solution. Maybe it is, but look at what happened to FFXIII. Though SE will never admit to it, making it multiplat delayed the game and cut the content.
Awsome review for an awesome game! It's also worthy to note that the game is pre-loaded with the Japanese DLCs! january 22 can't come soon enough!
@TheBatman_Fanatic, Donte it is since his name is pronounce this way now. And I'm sure you already know this. Right?
Dark Souls 2 can keep the persistent world instead of open world. To be honest, open world, aka sandbox, once you ventured the sidepaths and empty areas of the whole game world, chances are you just tread the shortest path anyway the next time around. That, or do fast travel. In Dark Souls, even if you fast travel, you still need to think of the correct/fastest route to the location you want to go next from that Bonfire.
Besides, how the locations are connected and mapped out...
Level-5 is expressing interest in basing their possible next game with Studio Ghibli on one of their previews titles. I'm hoping they lightly base it on Laputa: Castle in the Sky, or Spirited Away. I'm really excited at the thought of this!!!
I'm not judging this game more than what I've played in the demo; however, isn't it the norm in which early reviews are always high? Then as the days go by, those lower reviews start to creep in?
Based on the demo, I won't hold my breath for too much 9s for this game. Personally, this game could average around 7 in gamerankings and metacritic. I just wish they renamed this game to something else. Calling this Devil May Cry is asking for too much, in my opinion...
I liked it how the site was made! About the event, I wish I live near that place so I could go. This year's E3 is going to be exhilirating since there's no other way but for Sony to unveil PS4!
Edit/PS: And oh, of course new games still for the PS3. We all know that even after the PS3 came out, the PS2 still had dev support!
WKC could've sported quality had they stuck to a single player experience. But alas, they had to venture into the online world and somehow degraded WKC a bit of quality.
I enjoyed WKC though, take note. However, it wasn't good enough to seal my purchase of WKC 2.
Here's hoping that Level-5 creates a JRPG that sports online but with the level of quality that can be seen in games like Demon's Souls.
Wow, only 23 days left before Ni no Kuni comes out! I have to file for sick leave!
Am I the only who thinks Lightning's new costume is so over the top? Personally, she looks like she's the lead guitarist for Kiss.
For PS2, you missed Kratos. Kratos was really PS2's mascot. Look at the time's magazines.
Good for you then. Well to explain it: This game is Gamespot's GoTY. To each his own. Personally, I liked this game. It's a breath of fresh air in that it conveys emotions without words and the artistic design, plus technical graphics are outstanding. So for me it's GoTY material too.
In a world were FPS and shooting stuff become the norm, a ray of light in the form of games like Journey surely clinches the heart of longing gamers. Longing for simplicity and purit...
GoW: Ascension announced multiplayer months ago, and released a beta to streamline the mode. This TR announcement is barely factual in that the game is 3 months away from release without a single beta. I don't think this game will have MP.
PS: GoW's MP looks to be a wonderful 'brawl' type of multiplayer mode. It's fun!
Well I think SE here is aware that a new generation of gamers are being brought into the forefront. Our generation, the PS1 era, is somehow coming to a close; like some of us has aged and all that.
Though this is the case, abandoning a franchise staple fans for a new set of audience will have ill effects in the future.
Really? Seriously? NowGamer gave DmC a 9 and this game an 8.5? And what's laughable is DmC gets a 9 for game length while NNK only an 8? What has the world become!?
Does the reviewer for NNK know how much content this game has? How many secret villages you can find? How many familiars you can collect? Sidequests, monster arena and more? Just wow!
