Yes. About the price: Well, Apple with its iPhone which has a new model unit releasing every year people go gaga over and preorder and buy even with a steep price. Sony is offering a game console that's at least 7-year future-proof; I don't think pricing is really a big deal here. People will say 'Yes' to the prospect of buying it simply becasuse the PS brand is part of the pop culture much like Apple with the iPhone.
To be honest, I'd feel a little put off by a possible renaming of this game to FFXV for the next-generation of consoles simply because we were told at the very beginning that it's a game for the PS3.
That, and because of SE's prolonging of the XIII series. Does this mean I no longer care too much about this game? Maybe, maybe not.
I hope Ni No Kuni becomes the next FF, DQ, Persona of the JRPG genre. Since the main concept of the game is 'another world', Level 5 could just introduce a pair of brand new, 'parallel' worlds in their next games.
Sony has to take advantage of this tech which is what the PSVita has. For me, this touchpad is more practical. Practical since the aspect ratio matches most if not all HD sets, and something that doesn't require the user to look anywhere but the screen when using it, as opposed to looking at the Wii U's gamepad when using it for inventory access and stuff.
Imagine using a mouse peripheral on the PC; This touchpad will allow for more 1:1 selection feature like in most ...
I never knew the old Dante died. Hmmm...
I love the DS series and I don't want it to go away. However, if ever they're making this game more accessible, I really hope it's not in the same vein as EA has done with Dead Space 3. No microtransaction please. Imagine the tagline: "Prepare to die... all over again... but if you don't want to, buy stronger weapons and armors and use them for $0.99 a piece!"
With all the rave reviews and sales this game is getting, I'm quite positive that Level 5 will have to create another game collaborating with Studio Ghibli. This is how a JRPG is done. I just hope Square Enix is taking notes.
Be patient! You're almost there!
I just thought to respond directly to you here. So far, the game has received at least 5 below 7 scores. Why not look at those more reputable sites (there are more than 30 in Metacritic) that reviewed this game 8.5 and up.
This game deserves the 9s and the 10s it's been getting and not 5s and 6s. I can understand 7.5s and 8s but this game does not deserve anything lower than 7.
Personally, this game is a 10. Go to Metacritic and compare the average critic...
Great review! Now Metacritic should include this on their critic reviews list so it gets another point, two, or three higher as it rightfully deserves!
^I agree with both of you, but I'm agreeing more with Matts here. Persona 4 Golden for the Vita is great, but this is the first time in years that a JRPG is getting world critical and sales acclaim.
One can argue that Xenoblade for the Wii can also be considered a savior of the genre of sorts, but most people have mindsets that the genre needs a revival on an HD console in an HD format. So I'm basing my statement on this.
Final Fantasy XIII could have...
The game isn't perfect, but it's an outstanding game nonetheless. The quality and amount of heart and effort put into the game is pretty evident. Giving it a C+ then calling it not a JRPG genre savior when no one is really arguing about this is something I can't fathom.
I don't know what NNK or Level 5 did to 1UP, maybe they didn't receive a free copy of the review copy or something, but they are sounding like they're just ranting.
I'm beginning to feel like I really need to have a Vita! But I'm saving for Orbis or PS4!
If you go to Metacritic, DmC and Ni no Kuni are head to head when it comes to review scores. I don't know why, though. This game is down right a better title but critics on Metacritic are telling they both of the same caliber. User reviews for each game tells a great story though. :P
Yakuza 5 is an RPG? Correct me if I'm wrong though. Anyway, it's a bold claim, but I think I know what the article is talking about.
Great score of course! However, how come perfect scores like this doesn't get included in Metacritic?
If they really wanted to help new players into the game, why not set a difficulty where enemy item drops is more frequent? Why would they add something like this?
This is scary to say the least. Look at Diablo 3's Real Money Auction House. It lessened the item drops by monsters significantly, and when they do drop valuables,, they're not for your class, just so players would sell them instead.
Sadly, and though I don't have a Wii U, I would have to agree. I mean the new Xenoblade trailer looks great. If SE is still going to release FFvs13 on the PS3, they need to do it fast. If it's going to be on the next-gen console, they need to add more to the gameplay.
Anyways, we can't really judge both gasmes since we haven't played them yet. I just hope SE wakes up and fast!
About Ni no Kuni, I flippin' love it!
Now that demand for this game is telling about the success of Ni No Kuni, I wish Sony secures a sequel to this game and they publish it. It doesn't need to be a real sequel, but a successor. What i want is the collaboration between Level 5 and Studio Ghibli to remain.
And one more thing: I hope they make a JRPG of this caliber (or higher!) for the next PS console! hail to the rebirth of the JRPG genre!!!
I want this game now!
