And one reason why it never will
Microsoft own the publishing rights to the first game so no matter if Remedy own the IP they need MS's permission to put it on another platform, they took 2 years to give the go ahead to Remedy to self publish the game on windows PCs, they will never OK a PS3 or Wii U port of the game.

wait dies this mean he is making a game based on Ogre? http://en.wikipedia.org/wik...

surely not

yea but they have a massive bargaining chip in WoW, plus their legacy, they have their own management and everything. They are the most profitable part of Acti-Blizzard so they get to do whatever they want believe it or not. The second they lose any money ever then they will have problems.

And this is why you buy Bethesda games on PC

They turned a profit in a month, 1.1 million sales is more than enough for most games. Only huge budget AAA games with 20+ million marketing budgets need more. If it was then inFamous 2 with 1.1 million, Yakuza 4 800k, Warhawk 1 million, Alan Wake 1.1-1.5 depending who you ask would all be flops. It's not an massive success but it is still profitable.

And as you can see from the 400k sales of the first game last year the game will keep selling for years to come as PC ga...

very few WRPGs break 1 million without a massive marketing budget on 360. Basically if it's not Bethesda/Bioware/Fable (that covers all the WRPGs that have passed 1 million BTW) (all have large marketing budgets) the game would be lucky to top 500k, being mature hardcore RPG with little advertising and being a late port won't help ether. CD Project would be very happy with 500k sales on 360 anyway, it should at least sell better than Dark Souls on 360 which so far has done ~350k copie...

He wasn't talking about a platform he was talking about hardware for the biometric/wearable computing stuff they have been working on as there currently isn't that hardware out there yet.

I wouldn't call it ultimate, just a powerful rig that will play anything for the couple years at max or close to it @ 1080p

An ultimate rig would be a no compromises kind of build

How do you know the multiplayer combat is going to be crap? And I still don't see how giving away part of the game is sleazy, it just means if you don't want to play the story/campaign you don't have to pay a thing and if you want to play the full game you can pay a small price.

Do you think demos are sleazy as well? Or do you just want them to give the entire game away for free?

holly crap that sounds amazing

The Frostbyte 2 engine has several DX11 effects (direct compute bassed lighting, terrain displacement mapping, enhanced draw call batching) but it's far from taking full advantage of DX11. Don't get me wrong it is one of the best DX11 implementations yet but it's not a true DX11 engine.

As for the Unigine engine it is also not a true DX11 engine and other than tessellation doesn't really use DX much at all. The Haven demo is nice but it really only shows off t...

PC plus down-sampling by the looks of it

waiting longer for the port doesn't stop it being a port...

The same work would go into it just at the same time as the console versions so they can release at the same time. It's not like with 500 people working on the game an extra 20 or so people working on PC during the entire development would cost more than getting a hundred to rush it out the door in a couple months after the console version goes gold.

except that Frostbite 2 is a DX10 engine with DX11 effects slapped on top...

There are no engines built from the ground up for DX11. There are also no upcoming engines built on DX11 announced yet ether.

how is giving the first half of the game away for free, penny pinching?

For me games like Starcraft 2: HotS, War of the Roses, XCOM: Enemy Unknown and Far Cry 3 would be up there

And probably Darksiders 2, Mechwarrior Online and Prey 2 as well, and i bet a lot of people would put Guild Wars 2 and DOTA 2 up there.

But Bioshock: Infinite is definitely at the top of my list.

There are just a tone of great looking games coming this year, there is something for everyone no matter their tastes.

I wouldn't call it an advanced clone of interstate, I heard no Funk in those videos.

Interstae '76 was an amazing game back in the day, the Mechwarrior 2 engine with it's location based damage system was great and the soundtrack was one of the best of any game I have played. Activision trying to turn it into a damn Twisted Metal clone and then shelving the series because that game didn't sell well was one of the biggest travesties in gaming. A new interstate g...
