I'm still waiting for a Virtual Pro Wrestling 3....best wrestling/MMA game ever.

Biggest problem with today's wrestling/fighting games is that they don't truly respect each art the way they should, and the focus isn't properly on telling a story using said art, it's more about button-spam and building your meter cheaply to pull off a special and grab a victory.

Ugh, the dark side of gaming.

I liked it better when devs made games they thought were cool, pubs seen it could make money and distributed it/covered some of the costs.

Nowadays there is more legal lingo and restrictions for a game no one knows anything about.

I played the game and it sucked on release. It was practically unplayable.

The new updates make it a completely different beast. It's an awesome game now and pretty cheap.

Ahahaha.....those fanboy comments in the comment section are hilarious ...."But, but, but...Blizzard...."

The people defending this kind of crap for single-player games are ridiculous. It needs to die already, and I hope we never see an always-on for single-player games ever again.

I can already imagine Kotick saying...."But, but, but....Blizzard...you promised me my monies?"

This game reminded me a little bit of Journey...loved both soundtracks.

I also hope they use the Assassin's Creed soundtrack for the movie, too.

Some of these games, if done right, will be absolutely timeless movie classics.

However, given the record of game-to-movie transitions...my doubt out-weighs my hope.

Bubs, well said.

I don't ever want to get to a point where all my favorite titles are dictated by the "allowance" given by publishers to play the game.

If I can buy a DVD/Blu-Ray and watch/use it whenever I feel like it, and I've been doing the same with gaming all these years, I just don't think it's worth supporting this kind of transition out of a blind loyalty to a few passable moments of fun.

I'd hate to see...

That's not a bad point, but it's like one out of every 10 rehashes.

If they had Prototype 2 this year then it meant they had to get rid of another original game in the process.

Seems like Acti is only willing to put money into original good products after they've milked 10 other products for a while.

PR spiel.

Did you see that Bungie contract with Activision? Explain to me how a dev is supposed to churn out a quality product with those kind of ridiculous stipulations and restrictions?

That's why people blame the pubs and not the devs. Yes, the devs are responsible for the product coming out crummy, but the regulations they have to work within setup by the pubs are why they come out crummy.

"we have a lot of idiot gamers that cannot see the whole picture and believe that their is nothing wrong with them...unfortunately this tends to be a significant majority."

Couldn't have said it better myself.

I think gaming media also needs to do their job and report on this stuff instead of just saying "Oh, disc-locked content? Kind of sucks. Meh. Check out dees purdy grafix! Buy, Buy, Buy!"

Don't know if you heard but Dragon's Dogma still has disc-locked content...apparently not a lot of it, though.

Capcom has said that after DD they will lay off of disc-locked content. I hope it doesn't mean they strip from the main game and sell it later, just on their servers.

I don't know about the IDT5, I don't want to bash the engine because we don't know a lot about it.

However, RAGE was a huge disappointment and the PC version should have excelled at showing off the potential of the Tech 5 much like Battlefield 3 was a showcase for the Frostbite 2.0.

However, in a quest to garner mainstream sells, RAGE suffered from consolitis and in result, id Software took a huge hit to their technical prowess as well as their i...

YES, YES, YES!

It seems like I've been going around telling people how awesome the original Godfather was and how excited I was for the second one. I played and conquered the first Godfather almost more than I did GTA: SA. It was a really stylized and polished period-piece game. I loved it.

I thought EA was just going to buff the graphics and enhance everything from the first game for the sequel but instead THEY REMOVED EVERYTHING that made the first one fun...

Yeah this game looks like a rocket-busting ride. Can't wait for it.

5023d ago 1 agree0 disagreeView comment

Yeah it all falls back on the publishers.

Brian Fargo said it all: publishers blow money like monkeys blow bananas. Those weren't his exact words but it was something like that.

I don't think we'd be in this mess if pubs just stopped being greedy douches. We all understand they're a company "who wants to make money" but good gosh they're just burying the gaming industry under a load of corporate garbage.

That ODST commercial still sends chills down my spine.

He nailed that perfectly.

ROFL @ Gravelord

You must be trolling, bro. You can't be serious? ... ... ...

Wait you're being serious? Hahahaha....

Did Activision give you one month free of COD Elite to say that? Honestly, only someone with some sort of perk could say something like that.

Activision and EA are EXACTLY the same, and "Project Icebreaker" proves that.

I hope people don't get over the DRM.

Do we really need all our big budget AAA games hackable by some idiot gold-diggers because every other company wants to emulate Blizzard and their always-on?

I sure hope people don't get over it, otherwise the industry is doomed.
