I don't think you mean graphics but visual aesthetic.

For instance, S.T.A.L.K.E.R. has crappy graphics but an awesome, atmospheric aesthetic. It FEELS different and looks different from other games based on the presentation.

What I keep seeing in this thread are people who seemed to be disappointed with its unappealing visual look. So I don't think it was just that the graphics are bad, it sounds like a lot of gamers just felt it didn't hold any...

I'm not a CoD fanboy but I avoided this game like the plague because it looked like a generic CoD clone.

The gunplay looked generic, the levels looked uninspired and the AI looked like the typical mofos we've been facing off against the last half-decade (dumb spawn-tripper bots.)

Instead of getting Homefront I got Metro 2033 instead because it actually looked different. Having someone PR-spin the sequel as 5x better/bigger than the first game doesn&#...

Not only are the accounts hacked but no one even knows how. So much for DRM protecting against hack-attacks:

Irrefutable con: You will NEVER, EVER, EVER be able to play Diablo III again once Blizzard servers shut down for good.

Hmm, I was really curious what Gameinformer had to say, too bad it's labeled as spam.

What's worse are the idiots supporting this

"Take my consumer freedoms! I don't want them anymore! My monies mean nothing to me....NOTHINGGGGGG!"

These same idiots will also be defending when we're paying $10 an hour for single-player content using the following excuse..."Well, on the Neo Geo it used to cost up to $300 for a game, so it's a better deal now than ever before."

John Riccitiello is laughing at ...

Only $3.99 for the P2W Gem pack!

Use less skill, less time and less effort to beat long-time Capcom fans by simply paying to win!

Showcase your dominance with the P2W Gem pack right now.

*Disclaimer: Capcom reserves the right to bend your wallet over the table and rape it repeatedly. Void where prohibited.

00 makes some good points.

Coding also relates to how story scripts tie-in together, how well weapon mechanics work, how well animations transition, how well the game seamlessly goes from scripted cinematics to in-game play as well as the balance of the gameplay.

#Aggesan,

That's not the problem of the 3D artist it's the problem of the map designer. The artist comes up with textures and the way structures will look, the modelers put...

Excellent suggestions, I agree with them all...especially weight-class restrictions. It annoys the heck out of me when I see a little guy pick up a big fat guy and toss him over his head. Ridiculous.

It's for the six-hour casual noobs who then go on to play the six-hour campaign in CoD and then talk about how intense and story-driven it is.

Companies love them some casuals...mm, mm, mm.

Depends on preference...I actually preferred the No Mercy engine in Virtual Pro Wrestling 2 better than in No Mercy (much better pace, fighting, etc.)

I'm with THamm, I'd love to see how that engine would perform today with a boost in quality and tech.

Yeah he's absolutely spot-on regarding the ACTUAL serious issues plaguing the video game industry. He should stick to those topics.

He could help spread some serious education about the gaming industry so long as he stays away from pointless topics like this.

@Bakkies,

so you're just attributing that the rise in piracy because more people are using computers equates to lost sales? That's the kind of misinformation pubs love to toss around.

@Fishy Fingers

we've seen the screenshots from Wired. And they didn't look anywhere near as impressive as the screenshots from The Samaritan, again that's just my opinion.

We'll see when the real-time demo approaches if it looks more or less impressive than The Samaritan.

Doesn't matter if it's a license or not, it's about ownership.

You can quote legal terms all day long but I can still put a working Mario Kart 64 into a 64 and play all day long, whether Nintendo still makes an N64 console or not and whether the game has been discontinued or not.

I can still put Hitman 2: Silent Assassin into my DVD drive and play it to my heart's content. Doesn't matter if the EULA was for a year, two or 10...I OWN THE G...

PC gaming made more than $18 billion in 2011...more than any year in the past.

What rock and hard place are you talking about? Core PC gaming just keeps growing despite pubs whining about piracy.

Check out CD Projekt's The Witcher 2....it released as a DRM-free version and was pirated less than the DRM version.

Which is killing PC gaming? Piracy or DRM? Easy: DRM.

5005d ago 8 agree0 disagreeView comment

Ugh, CD Projekt already proved that a game can sell without DRM.

In fact, their DRM-free version of The Witcher 2 can't even be found on torrents (not from what I've looked for anyways) and hackers actually have been turning against people who try to torrent the DRM-free version because they say (ironic as this sounds) it takes money away from CD Projekt.

You can create a pro-dev, anti-pirate environment if you make a good product and respect your cu...

The only problem is that it's not all that next-gen looking.

I've been looking at some other engines and they seem to look a lot better than what we've seen of the UE4.

I hope I'm wrong but if the next-gen consoles are running games the way that UE4 demo looks that's not that impressive. Actually, The Samaritan was more impressive...but that's just me.
