Not the news I was hoping for, I can't just say I will only buy games without DRM because I know there will be games with DRM that I just have to play.
Most of my games this gen I bought from just one publisher, Sony. He should have made it clear what the plans are for the exclusives. I know I will buy those games, so am I getting DRM games or what?

Not yet:) I never updated GoW because of the Trial of Archimedes, and it has to update when signed in, cancelling the update signed me out, and no demo. So I decided to update once I realised I can delete the update again after I play the demo...but for the first time ever the download got stuck, it just stopped and restarting it only gives corrupted data and a suggestion to write down a code and contact support. I wonder if my copy of GoW:A will give me access, it's a UK disk and I live in Holland, EU. I didn't get to see the counter by pressing square in the GoW menu either, so it probably won't work.
Next time I'm offered a special edition for the tegular price I guess I'll have to check the disk first.

I don't care about hype, and nobody hyped Starhawk, not in the real world, not here. Sony didn't advertise it, websites didn't pay a lot of attention. There was no hype, and nobody ever said Starhawk was huge.

Yeah, MotorStorm was great, 2 was nice, but 3 was a 3D mess of boost, boost and some more boost, nothing like the 1st.
As for GRiD, didn't bought it. Last gen their TOCA/DTM series was the best, imo far better than GT, but this gen all they make is arcadey games with to much Hollywood BS. A shame.
Starhawk still is mad fun online, different and very spectacular. One year later the game has a small but dedicated fanbase that's fun to play with. I remember when I bought it last year in May on launchday, one copy on the bottomshelve next to a wall of Black Ops 2 that wasn't even out for a couple of months.
A game doesn't need to sell millions and have 100k online every day to be good. Try it to see what you've missed, the MP is cheap on PSN and far better ...
The Fury expansion for WipEout HD, best DLC ever for the best DLG ever (imo of course), it doubled the fun in tracks, gamemodes. It felt like a new game instead of an add-on.
PSN is not the fastest, but upgrading your internetsub does help a lot. I went from 30 to 80 Mb/s and downloading is now faster than installing. The XMB speedtest (wired) says 29 or 30 Mb/s, but when downloading an update it's more like 10 Mb/s, where it used to be 2 or 3.
One of my favourite games of last gen, of all time actually. I loved the way you could beat up innocent pedestrians in co-op, so violent, and not a word in the press:)
Xbox One owner, Xbox dashboard has advertisement, camera & microphone always on, mandatory internetconnection once every day, MS servers, new studio's focussed on digital content.
This machine was designed to sell us all kinds of stuff, aand do some gaming. I already own such a machine, my television, and I hardly use it for watching television, I use it for gaming.
Both, but now that xbox One has HDMI-in I will loop my PS4 through my Xbox One & only play PS4 games and force MS to watch me doing that 24/7 so they can see & learn what gamers really want.
But it HAS to watch & listen 24/7 & be online once every 24 hours, how else are we supposed to turn it on? By pushing a button? And where the hell is the dashboard getting my latest tailormade ads from when it can't connect once a day or without MS knowing how fat I am? Ever thought about that? Huh? I thought so.

Much needed competition of course, and if Microsofts one-a-day online policy & cloud/DRM thing protects them from piracy and Sony makes one mistake and hackers blow the system wide open - a greater threat now they went from Cell to x86 - it will be serious competition. Competition is usually good for gamers.
Weird. MS still needs gamestores to sell games to gamers, gamestores can't survive without buying back those games from gamers, now MS wants to make money to/again on re-selling already sold games back to gamers, which could be bad for stores, where gamers buy the games in the first place. Yup, and they're not in the way, plus they add some weight. I still have 2 original black sixaxis controllers, hold-em against the light and see right through them.

PS4 launchevent - show what's INSIDE the console. The things that make our games run smooth and look really nice. As a gamer for me that's more important than showing a square STB. Notice MS hardly spoke about that.
