It really is basically that simple. I'm tired of how the articles about how "resolutiongate" being "overblown" have become more exhausting than the relevant genre that are articles about "resolutiongate" (those that compare price/performance)
If you don't like price/performance articles, take your ignorant opinions and go find a hobby that caters to morons.
Yeah and it's worth mentioning that Deadrising actually looks fun...Ryse? Not so much.
Was that guy snorting something before that interview?
Anyway, "at least a decade?" Yikes.... Slow down there buddy. Why not lock down the next five years for a start? Hell even then 360 has, as near as makes no difference, zero support 8 years in.
Just sit further away from your screen. ;)
So until they defy the laws of physics... literally...it won't be good enough for you? Check.
Every COD launch you have a vocal minority feeling very self-satisfied saying the types of things you're saying. The problem is, the game is far from garbage. You might not enjoy it, but that doesn't mean it's bad. Also people vote with $ in this industry and the $ says the majority of gamers like these games.
The thing for me is, I'm not even saying you're not entitled to dislike it. I have mixed feelings about the series myself, I just don't understa...
We know... Except most critics were luke warm about it. As for gamer's reaction, it's the same whining as every COD launch, hard to distinguish. A billion dollars worth of units moving tuesday speaks pretty loudly though, the series still has fans.
Add to that the fact that every single COD game has horrible user aggregate scores due
to tons of people posting zeros in some form of odd protest. So even if your point didn't invalidate the article, it would still not be news.
So sick of this nonsense. Games just keep getting bigger and internet improvement in the west moves at a snail's pace. Why do people think this will change with 50gb games coming on systems with 500 gb drives, might I add.
Epic owns and controls Gears. It's already been established that the relationship between MS and Epic is changing. I noticed that Phil Spencer has specifically undermined Gears recently, which connected to rumours after Mark Rein's first tweet earlier in the week. This though...this is majorly messing with people. Either huge news or he knows we're all watching and he can't help himself but toy with these forums. My gut says there is fire behind this smoke though. New console ...
Look at the only public xb1 footage of multiplayer. There are obvious framerate issues. Also, many who have had time with the xb1 version say that both modes have serious framerate issues. Of course that excludes Destructoid....that said, some have said their PS4 experience was smooth. Bottomline: won't know till the embargo lifts, but expect xb1 issues (afterall, even high end pcs have COD:Ghosts issues, it's not connected to the usual power debate)
That's not a loss of credibility, it's a surrender of it. Most game reviewers have less right reviewing games than moldy sponges, what difference is there?
Looks nice tbh. Not mindmelting, but definitely better.
Am not really bothered by entering codes... But it's a decent gimmick I guess.
Well to be fair, his point is that next-gen offers more than just resolution improvements. He wasn't saying res is unimportant .
@mhunterjr
The point is a first party studio is an investment. You take x dollars and give your customer something that didn't previously exist. 3rd party exclusives involve seeing an 80% finished product intended for all platforms, and saying, "even though our user base will already get this product, let's take this 100 million we could spend on making them something new and spend it on making sure that other platforms don't get this game." It's a s...
"MS knew what it was doing" ??
This was clearly a budget driven decision.
Rumour has it the designers were told they needed to use 8 gigs of ram because MS wouldn't pay for a new OS. The need to use a version of windows necessitates 8 gigs. However, since the budget wouldn't be large enough for 8gigs of GDDR5 they had to use DDR3 and eat the loss of bandwidth. Unfortunately this means they had to add this esram solution, but they were budge...
I think part of the problem is that these moves are being seen as an attempt to white-wash a lot of the bad press of late. What many want from MS is some honesty and respect, and well... Some good news. Giving out free things to random loyal customers isn't good news, it's razzle dazzle.
Also, though I agree that it's not inherently bad, if you expect the collective xbox user base/the internet to act in a mature fashion, you must be new to planet earth.
...
Well, yes, but 1st party exclusives are a different matter. Even so-called second party exclusives. Because both those formats are tailored to hardware. Strict 3rd party exclusives don't bring anything directly to your user base that they wouldn't have had anyway if you let it come out as a regular cross plat. The argument is, take that money and develop true 1st party games with it to actually create something new.
This gets traction because trust is important in marketing. If MS really believes in the superiority of their product then why not ensure it's front and center? How dare people make out like this is petty or exaggerated? Would it be an exaggeration to react if Coke had a commercial showing people flipping out over the flavour of their "superior product" only to find out they poured Pepsi into empty Coke cans? Have some self respect. Being intentionally mislead by a company repea...
