They just need to work on balance. The problem all of Beth's games is that toward the end of the game the challenge is almost trivial as player becomes an unstoppable juggernaut. Such is the way of open world RPGs I guess.
I can't believe that Dragon Age 2 is made by the same developer who lovingly crafted Dragon Age: Orgins. The two games are polar opposite in their quality. Origins is dripping with polish and hand crafted content while Dragon Age 2 felt like some like a bunch of drunken devs copy and paste 40% of the game and shouted "ship it!".
There is no question that ARMA is the premier military sim, and yeah the graphics are great but what they really need to work on is the AI and the battle chatter to complete the experience. The AI can be hilariously stupid sometimes and the combat chatter is a real mood killer. It's hard for me to be immersed in the realistic combat when my squad mates are shouting emotionless lines like...
Enemy. Riflemen. Spotted. 30 meters.
Enemy. Tank. Spotted. 200 yards.
It's sad really to know that a large population of the gaming world are deprived of the opportunity of being a PC gamer and a console gamer. Being able to game on both platforms can lend a perspective that most of fanboys here are sadly lacking.
When I want an optimal gaming experience with no compromise, I hop on to my PC. There isn't anything out that can top the PC gaming experience. Cutting edge graphics with screaming performance piled with an endless stream of f...
LOL the PS3 is more powerful than what laptops? I don't see any laptops out there with 512 MB of RAM. Hell, there are droids cell phones that can out muscle the consoles in that department.
So thats what a wasted life looks like.
Yeah yeah, the trailer is very artistic, I get it. Now enough about that and more about the damn game. The trailer is just window dressing for a what seems to be an open world zombie hack fest. So far the combat looks very arcade-ism which is concerning.
LOL @ 512 console RAM is fine comment. That list is completely bullshit, makes me wonder if you ever played those games. Heck, DCUO and Fallouts in particular tend to suffer freezing issues because of RAM issues. In fact, Sony's developer of DCUO actually stated the PS3's lack of RAM is main culprit for the crashes after the content updates.
I would rather have visual fidelity and epic game play than to 60 fps on the consoles. This isn't Madden, it's a shooter. Most console shooters are sub 60fps and it's fine. If Carmack really wanted a challenge then he should've went for 1080p native on the consoles. That would really set Rage apart.
Yup, lets make the community smaller! Yay, we'll win for sure.
God I hope so, the constantly respawning checkpoints and patrols in Farcry 2 was annoying as hell. They need to tone down weapon wear too, it's moronic how your guns would break down like it's some kind of post apocalypse Fallout 3 weapon thats been sitting in dirt for years.
What is it about blind fanboy-ism that makes some people worship pre-2006 technology? I just don't get it. Since then I builda new gaming PC, brought new laptop, overpaid for 3 generations of iphones, two generations of iPads, switched from 46" LCD to 55" LED TV, brought a new house, and a new car...but my PS3 its still good? NOT. The technology inside this thing is virtually fossilized in 2011.
Looking at all the tech gear I acquired over the years there isn...
Yup, the problem with JRPG is how they're caught up in Japan's own anime culture, a culture that most in the Western world do not identify with. Hence they find JRPGs to be too flamboyant and emo when compared to the western RPGs which tend to be gritty and badass.
I'm just going to rent it now. Kiss my ass greedy devs. Good luck monetizing that.
I never buy limited edition since it's a ripoff, specially in terms of the Mass Effect series. Why pay $70 for a special edition when 6 months later the ultimate edition will be on sale for $10 on Steam?
What are you talking about. We've already seen plenty of things the PS3 can't do.
The 360 is the poster child for console development, nobody want to learn another cryptic architecture like Cell again. I expect games from nextgen consoles to be maxing the system on day one, not years like this gen and the PS3.
Will I be able to fart on them like in Fable 3 too?
Agree. BC 2 is infested with snipers, these guys need a game mechanic that is actually harder than point and kill.
Simple answer to that really. They found out that it's much easier to bend over console gamers and rape them than PC gamers. Console gamers are more receptive to said rapings since they're trapped inside a proprietary box fueled by blind fanboy-ism.
See the $15 Call of Duty map packs for example. Also with recent developments, see the troubling online pass bullshit that starting to spread in the industry. This also happens whenever a console gamer pick up Battefield B...
