@Septic:
From reading many of your previous posts you are one of the more thoughtful people on this site.
Remember, it is because MS tried to con us all before the launch that their XB1 was as powerful if not more so than the PS4 - that is why people are so hacked off with MS.
They still try to convince us after the launch. More honesty from MS would be welcome. They should just focus on the XB1 strengths. All they are doing is highlighting the fact X...
"Developers are thankful for resolution gate for blowing up like it did. It shook things up at MS. It won't make parity but every bit helps.".
Even developers know that the PS4 hardware is more powerful and multi-platform games on XB1 will never achieve parity. But they do want more resources to at least close the gap a bit.
I suspect that developers were not anticipating such a gap.
Give credit to all those developers who are g...
I hope this means MS do not do what they did last time around: Halo, Gears, Forza, Halo, Gears, Forza...
Great news for those that dig Gears - just hope they follow Sony's example and create great new franchises rather than bleed old ones to death.
Is this good for the XB1 or is it desperation from Microsoft's part? Is it simply to stop it going multi-platform? Or are they now going to invest in studios? I hope for all XB1 owners it is for the latter....
Great sentiment from EZ above about let's just get on with gaming.
Did media and 360 fans bust PS3 and Sony because they had better looking multi-platform games - Yes!
Have Microsoft tried to lie to us all and try to convince us all the XB1 is as powerful as the PS4 - Yes!
I think if MS just concentrated on their strengths we could all get along just fine. Give PS4 fans their gloating time and lets all move on.
Great game...
Why does it matter that 900,000 are sitting on shelves and 3.9 were shipped?
Because very soon the retailers will say to MS, "I ain't buying no more consoles off you as they are not shipping."
So very soon MS sales figures will fall whilst the PS4 sales will stay relatively high. Less consoles sold to consumers also means less software sold by developers.
It matters..
Don't start with logic....
But FUD tastes so much better with... Gravy!
PS3 games got better and better as developers got to grips with it and also because the cell had some neat features once mastered.
Sony also invested in their studios - not shut them down. So even though PS3 owners had to put up with inferior multi-platforms they did get the superior exclusives.
But fuss was always made in the media and by 360 owners about better looking mult-platform games. The gap now is much bigger in terms of graphical power between the X...
Don't blame gamers blame MS. For months they have known the PS4 would be the more powerful but they kept the lies going on. Even after both were released they could not admit it.
I agree 100% with you. Embrace what you have and just enjoy the brilliance of next gen gaming.
Good news that PS4 version is NOT being held back graphically. A good game is a good game regardless but it makes sense to push each platform to its limits.
It must be clear to all now that PS4 is more powerful - but both will do an amazing job with next gen games.
I could not tell you what fps or graphical technology my fave games on the PS3 were. I didn't care because they were great games. They were also pushed to their limits at the time.
First off the controller is amazing!
On topic: Makes you wonder why in 2014 the XB1 has an external power brick and is so huge!
The engineering technology must be available around the whole world for technicians and engineers. Testing fan optimisation and slow down tech, air flow, heat dissipation, noise control and putting them all together with an efficient design - wow!
What were the Microsoft team doing with their almost unlimited amount ...
Two things are clear here:
1) It seems to be like a HD-remake (Or Super next gen HD) and those games always sell for at least half price if not less than new games.
2) If the fps and resolution are the same on PS4/XB1 then they have gimped it for parity sake. We all know which machine is the most powerful now.
You can not please all the people all of the time so stop trying. Max out the game for each platform and get a bit of self-respect!
So they are not all hairy-legged with unshaven armpits?
I got a PS4 but still many, many games to play for my PS3. The 360 and PS3 selling well around the world still.
Can't see me giving up my PS3 in the 5 years. I got the best of both worlds!
From the trailers I saw this is easily the scariest game ever!
Cannot wait for Outlast. Also like the look of Metro. Not a fan of Bioshock but Modnation Racers is worth a blast.
More games than I have time to play, not enough disk space - stop it Sony!
They did not back the wrong horse. They wanted the game to come out on PS4 at some point. It was EA who signed the deal with Microsoft.
Titian fall 2 will be on PS4.
We should all wait until it comes out before we judge. Trouble is PS4 is in such demand at the minute whilst the XB1 needs a system seller. Titian fall was going to be that game.
If anything, Playstation Now makes the Vita TV essential!
First the PS3 will get the service then Vita will. Once on Vita take your Vita TV to any house. Hook up to any TV using HDMI and connect to the router (cable would be best for faster speeds but wifi will work).
You now have access to your Vita games on the internal memory card, PS3 games via Playstation Now and even your PS4 games by connecting to your PS4 via remote play.
Simply take ...
I have 120Mbps soon to be upgraded for free to 150Mbps here in the UK but we will have to wait a bit for this service.
But even with my 120Mbps we have 2 PS4s 2 Vitas, 2 PCs, tablets and smartphones all connecting at the same time.
Wifi technology is not perfect as yet - that's why I cable connect my PC and PS4 for maximum speed!
You are right. It is a great time to be a gamer.
What Sony are doing is giving gamers the choice to game wherever and however they wish. This is amazing.
I do hope Microsoft do the same. Anything is better than trying to stop people even owning their own game.
What Sony are doing with PS4 and share, PS Vita TV and Playstation Now is taking advantage of the new digital age we live in.
Over to you Microsoft...
If you are going to do it - go the whole way!
When Sony were considering this route before they decided on GDDR shared pool of RAM they were considering speeds of over 1,000 GB/s peak output.
Imagine how powerful that would of proved over time?
Microsoft did it with only a max output of 204 GB/s at peak. Just one of the many weird decisions from Microsoft for the XB1 (power brick, massive case with huge fan meaning cannot stand it up or stack...
