I was planning on getting BF3 but after trying the beta, I've decided to skip it.
The gameplay was pretty solid buy there were just too many bugs and glitches. If I do end up getting BF3 it'll be a months after release.
A true FF7 HD remake would just be huge for Square. I dont' know any jrpg fan that wouldn't buy this.
I played it when it first came out remembered being blown away by it. I only remember the main points of the story so playing the game again would be like a new experience especially with beefed up visuals. They could even add alternate endings.

I would love for Gears 3 to be on ps3 as in my opinion it's the 360's only exclusive worth talking about. It's the only reason I would even buy a 360 but that's just too much money that I could spend on ps3 exclusives.
Art style looks amazing. Hope it plays as good as it looks.
Kevin Butler has nothing to do with R3 sales.
It has more to do with Resistance 2, and the timing is pretty bad with BF3 & MW3 coming out soon.
I only have a ps3 and I've played R1 and R2, and honestly Resistance 2 turned me off to the series. I'd rather spend that $60 on BF3 or Uncharted 3.
To be fair I doubt anyone has the disposable income to buy all the exclusives that are coming out or came out.
Sony has a steady pipeline whereas MS hasnt even released an exclusive this year.
PS3 gamers also buy multiplats so that has to be a factor. I guess we have too much choice.
Both companies messed their chances to dominate each other. That's why they're neck and neck.
MS messed up with RROD, then lack of first party.
Sony messed up with $600 launch, then getting hacked.
Meanwhile, Nintendo has been making money since the launch of Wii laughing at both Sony and MS. And I'm definitely not a Nintendo fan.
Well based on features, specs, 3rd party support and overall value i'd say the Vita.
But Nintendo just cut the price by $80 in anticipation of the Vita launch so who knows.
I already pay for internet monthly why pay for it again on a console?
It should be free just like everywhere else.
If they started using dedicated servers for every multiplayer game then that would be a different story.

The Vita is well equipped to play deep and casual games. Sony's got the deep games covered. They just need to release a ton of $1 to 5$ casual games and they're set. The cheap games don't even have to be good since casuals don't care about quality.
I'm actually thinking the opposite.
IMO the Vita will outsell the psp cuz it can do way more than the PSP. It can also do the same if not more than the ipod touch. It also has a rear touch screen which no other devices currently have. It seems like the Vita is well equipped for deep or casual games.
If Sony can get a ton of cheap $1-$5 dollar games then they can take a piece of that casual pie.

I'm not personally sold on 3d yet, but to me it has a ton of potential.
I could just imagine all the uses it would have for videogames if done properly.

I consider myself core. I had the SNES, N64 & Gamecube. Ocarina of Time is one of my favaorite games of all time and I still have the gold cartridge.
The reason Wii didn't appeal to me was because it just seemed like Nintendo re-packaged the gamecube with motion controls and overcharged for it. This is just my perception and I'm not saying it's a fact. I'm glad it worked for them so that they can stay in the game to give Sony competition.
This is where having too many games coming out at once hurts franchises like Resistance.
I don't have as much time or income to play games as I used to so given the choice of Resistance 3 or Uncharted 3 it will be Uncharted 3.
