I used to think MS wouldn't be crazy enough to implement always online for consoles.

Then I saw this video of Steve Ballmer (CEO of MS):

I still want to believe they won't though.

I wouldn`t get too excited about all these rumors.

Yes PS4 looks beastly right now but I seriously doubt MS will require always online to play games. It would just be commercial suicide.

MS is probably trying to match or equal any of the PS4`s specs & features, or are trying to beef up whatever new sh*t they have planned and are not ready to unveil anything quite yet.

If they do have always online requirements to play online then may g...

Keep the hype train going!

Just don't blow your load pre E3. Save some goodies for the big show.

I think the Wii U will be fine, it just might not be a Wii 1 type of success. They still have a price cut card to play.

Once their holy trio Mario/Zelda/Pokemon hits shelves with a price cut, it'll move units.

The Wii U's going through a game drought, Nintendo's been through it before.

Someone please hand nVidia a box of tissues.

Wow the Butthurtedness and trolling from nVidia continues.

AMD must be laughing their asses off watching nVidia execs shoot off from their mouths.

When the Next-gen consoles sell over 200 million consoles we'll see who's laughing.

I think Sony's strategy was to steal a lot of MS's thunder. They showed off games that are also coming to 720, so when MS shows them off too the wow factor isn't the same.

If Sony had info on 720's specs and felt that MS couldn't or wouldn't match PS4's specs then it seems like the right move.

I doubt MS could just upgrade the 720's specs without some sort of delay. Launching first was their biggest advantage last gen, I don...

nVidia's butturt they didn't get contracts with Nintendo, Sony or MS for next-gen. AMD went for the clean sweep.

Which means, AMD chips will be inside at the very least 200 million consoles next-gen. nVidia, zero. Ouch.

Edit: Unless MS goes with nVidia, which rumours suggest otherwise.

I'd like to see Santa Monica create their own universe, and make an action/rpg type game, with god of war's brutality.

They have a ton of talent, they can pretty much pull off anything.

Sony won't be losing $200-$400 at launch like they did with the PS3, since Cell and Bluray aren't really a factor this time.

That alone guarantees they'll be profitable at a faster rate than PS3.

If PS4 launches at $399 and Sony breaks even, or is close to breaking even, I think they'll do really well.

Yea good point.

I think KZ: SF, Infamous SS, DriveClub and Knack are more than enough for launch.

We don't even know about the "launch window" games either. Hopefully The Last Guardian is one of them.

The PS4 is looking damn good so far but let's not count out MS or Nintendo.

MS and Ninty have deep pocket books, and I doubt they're just gonna let Sony walk all over them.

Just like the PS4 is to Sony, the XB720 is absolutely integral to MS's "living room" strategy and company future.

The PS4 will be a success no matter what, So will the X720, and Wii U.

This gen proved 3 consoles can and will co-exist. Why would that change next gen? Given how Sony's designed PS4 they'll be way more profitable and at a faster rate. MS has proved they can make money with their Live subscription.

Killzone: SF and Uncharted 4 at launch would be insane!!

Sony learned some tough lessons, and it looks like they're more than ready for next-gen.

Not even close. Wii U might not do Wii type success but it's no where near dead. It'll do just fine, I'm guessing around 50-70 mil ball park lifetime which is what SNES did. (I think SNES did 50 mil or so which is a huge success)

Once the price comes down and Zelda/Mario/Pokemon/Monster Hunter release, look out.

People counting Nintendo out don't have a clue about strategy and tactics. They have a few cards they can still play.

They will cut the Wii U price when 3D Mario, Zelda, Pokemon start to roll out, probably around the PS4 launch.

Never forget that Nintendo has a monopoly on "family friendly" entertainment and as soon as the price is right next holiday, Wii U will move a ton of consoles. Just look at the 3DS, Ninty will pull the same move.

Sony's taking away a few of MS's last gen advantages such as 1 year head start, harder to develop for system, launch price, etc so it'll be interesting to see what MS brings next-gen.

Never underestimate your competition, MS has deep pockets and really need/want their box to do well to keep up the fight vs Apple/Google/Sony. This is more than just about a games console for them, it's basically do or die and I can guarantee they will come out swinging.

KZ: SF looked f'ing amazing!! And it's super early too, the final product will be even better.

Hopefully GG works on a few cool mechanics as well and not just the graphics. Like more mech battles vs ships or something like that, or maybe have epic battles in the city while knocking buildings over with ships/mechs. etc.
