You must admit Microsoft are Wizards though. They somehow managed to convince hardcore 360 fans that being Nickel'd and Dime'd for free things is a good thing.
They've somehow made buying a $99 wifi adapter, paying $50 a year for a free service, paying over $200 for faulty hardware, and STILL have die-hard xbox fans.
Unprecedented indeed.
@Stephanie
Agreed on that one though. Don't forget also that without MS, FPS games wouldn't be the same...
Breakfast, I truely wonder what kind of person you are in real life.
Probably not a lot of friends
None of them do.
@1.2
True this is just one person's opinion. But what about the other million articles and each are just one person's opinion. It makes no difference.
At least this particular author isn't stating it like a FACT that all Xbox owners must switch to PS3. He gave valid reasons for why he is getting a different console.
The difference between you and him, just like you said. You'd make an article for no reason just to bash the PS3. Very tool-like qualities ...
power of Green is actually a 5 year old girl, leave her alone or she'll cry to mommy
It is, that's why year to date the PS3 has outsold the 360 with it's higher price tag.
"Lost Odyssey."
No please. No.
LO wasn't that great. Glitchy visuals, unstable frame rate, and boring story. Sorry, I played some of the beginning of the game. And that damn part where there's a bunch of reading for Kaim's dream totally killed it.
Sure some people like it, and it's generally a solid RPG than some others. But it's nowhere near what a true "next-gen" RPG should be.
I agree with Thor. RPGs in general is completely messed up. Too often we are getting RPGs that try to be different in a unnecessary way. Straying away from a good formula. Most people would be pretty satisfied with extremely awesome visuals, and a few knick knacks here and there.
It seems developers are now just pushed into a corner because if they make a traditional RPG, they will be accused of lack of innovation. If they make it different, then it strays too far away from the f...
Why not? Chun Li and boobs seriously kick @$$
Hmmmm interesting. So 4 Blu-rays huh?
It's okay, they could fit it into one DVD9. All they have to do is "re-imagine" it down to 1 level instead of 12. Because they don't need to "cut" any content, just re-do the whole game.
"People aren't going to lose their homes or choose not eat just to own blu-ray player."
People have much more money than you think, but In a way I agree with your statement.
There are those that cant afford to slip a single penny for "useless" entertainment needs.
But that just makes things more interesting.
Agreed with that. Each game should have had proper time for the people to see what it's about. I'm pretty sure that 5 seconds of MGS4, people didn't even know what game it was.
A good advertisement is something that catches people's eyes instantly and get them interested.
Sony's advertisement, does not do that at all. Instead (like you mentioned) they put those silly montages where people won't catch anything from it. Thus, beating the whole purpose of advertising. ...
100% Agreed. Ever since MS with their insane Halo 3 advertising campaign, people have been putting the same expectations for other games.
HOWEVER, I would say that one game that deserves that kind of marketing is MGS4. Nothing would have been better than a massively hyped game, that actually lives up to the hype it generated. Halo 3, was not that game.
Banjo is out already?
But you're right with your hidden message. Just because it's advertised, doesn't mean it's going to do well.
Anyone related to PS3 knows about the game Resistance. But the point of marketing or advertisement is to get newcomers who don't know anything about Resistance, and perhaps best case scenario buy a PS3 for the game.
Well said! Agreed.
Really? Must be the different areas then. Up here in Nor Cal, there's a lot of GTA IV 360 ads. In fact, no PS3 ads at all. The only time I saw a lot of PS3 ads was for Assassin's creed. Other than that, I see more 360 ads on a regular basis.
What I don't get about Sony, was the MGS4 trailer. It was advertised like a big blockbuster hit movie and even had the "movie guy voice". If they would have just struck a deal and have that trailer in the movie theaters, MGS4 would have done a lot better in sales and get the recognition it deserves.
I don't need "innovation" to enjoy my games. I'll enjoy my re-hash Gears of War 2s, Resistance 2s, God of War IIIs, Gran Turismos, and the list goes on.
I like my games with quality presentation, and don't need a gimmick to enjoy them.
@Pirate.
There could just be a post that says "I bought a sponge" and people would still argue about PS3 vs Xbox360.
lol
