Actually if you want a pretty colorful shooter, play Brothers in Arms. That's the most colorful war shooter I've ever played. Then again, certain scenes they used the grays and dark blues to depict the horrors in war.
In KZ2, the art style and color scheme is what adds to the overall immersion. Especially since it's supposed to be on the helghast planet.
FPS is a Genre. A Genre that's extremely hard to be original. Step outside of the concept too much, and it will bomb hard. Keep it the same as all other FPS is "overdone."
Seriously, what in the world do people want from a FPS game that would make it sooooooo entirely original?
The only game I can think of that steps out of the traditional FPS boundary is Mirror's Edge.
Don't know about all that man. I've been playing Gears 1 for the past week, and it doesn't look all that great anymore compared to the first time I played it. When I first played Gears 1, it blew my mind away and couldn't believe those kind of graphics were possible on a console.

Yeah Epic owns the Gears IP. But MS has a contract with them for Gears 1 and 2. Or so people's claimed.

I think they shouldn't just go straight to $299. They should decline to $349 by Christmas, then $299 in summer 2009.
I personally think people wouldn't mind paying $349 for an 80gb PS3. Especially the general perception of the PS3 as being "expensive" will look less painful to consumers at that price. Then of course drop that bomb of $299 in Q2 2009 especially after the hype for Killzone 2.

As long as Sony doesn't pull a dreamcast, my $500 towards the PS3 is not a waste. If for some strange reason they do pull a dreamcast. Xbox 3 here I come.
Some of them will definitely be PSN titles. But who's complaining? Give me more unique looking games like Fat Princess. Or go balls out and give us something technically advanced and bargain value as Wipeout HD.
You know this isn't really something new in the industry. A lot of game developers who finished God of War 1 and God of War 2 went onto other companies to make other games.
So I wish Ryan Payton good luck and a big thanks for help shaping MGS4 into one of the greatest games this generation.
And I hope he brings something good for Halo to make it from a good game into something truely amazing. (Pretty much what it was hyped up to be to begin with)

Amen to that. This game is looking awesome! I've been playing part 1 all over again, (although I still keep getting killed by RAAM) it's still a lot of fun.
This is one of those games where the single player (to me) is already so solid, multiplayer is just an extra.
Cant wait to try out the new weapons like the Mortar looking thing.
