Judging purely on the screenshot comparisons the video uses the same source as before; there is no extra detail or resolution in the supposedly 'wholly redone CGI', it just has its saturation turned up which makes it look more colourful. I do the same thing in Final Cut when a video clip is looking washed out.
The first Assassin's Creed game set the stage for the series and I remember being so excited for it. I have started it a couple of times but never got too...
@Gunstar75 'Where did you get January 2024 from?' Fair question. We know those games won't come out before June 2023. That means if they don't come out between July next year and December next year they will be released in January 2024 or later. It is possible that one of the titles will release in the second half of next year, as it will be four years since the reveal of Hellblade II I would think that the most likely candidate.
Fallout 5 is coming out after the Elder Scrolls VI? I hope to live long enough to have children, see them grow up and play it.
The author is thinking along the same lines as me; Microsoft showing only games available in the next 12 months was touted as a positive because the last conference was criticised for relying on CGI vapourware. However it was likely convenient because so many of the previously revealed games are nowhere near ready and likely won't release before JANUARY 2024. Hellblade II, the new Fable, Avowed, Outer Worlds II, State of Decay 3, Everwild, Perfect Dark reboot and more. They will come but...
@King_Noctis The game will be available as a standard edition, the same as before (but remade). The writer is upset about the bonus content in the more expensive Deluxe Edition and it's fine to express that. Whether you like the Deluxe edition or hate it you can still experience the core game without paying extra. Some people are upset that they have to pay extra for items that they never had before.
@ABizzel1 Well said! How many other games offer optional paid extras a...
Ellie looks older.
Clearly a lot of work as gone into the remake, there are some major graphical upgrades and as the Last of Us is one of my all time favourite games I will play it. However a stylistic decision that I don’t like is that Ellie in the original is a child and she looks about 12 or 13. In the remake she looks about 17 with adult features and closer to actress Ashley Johnson.
It's optional. If you don't like it don't buy it but don't write a song and dance about it.
@porkChop Yes, you’re likely right. The game could be done and the rest of the time is big squeaking and optimisation. But I will still be keeping my fingers crossed until Sunday that there could be a good surprise!
Something doesn't add up. If the game is genuinely having the 'finishing touches' added (meaning near-complete and having final tuning adjustments) then surely it should meet the original 11th November release date? Does this mean Starfield was prematurely delayed by Microsoft out of an abundance of caution following the Halo Infinite criticism and it will actually surprise everything at its 'E3' presentation with a release this year?
Fuck me, announcing an announcement for a logo update?!
You're already a better reviewer than all the chumps at Kotaku!
Coming after the genre-defining GTA III, Vice City was incredible. Ray Liotta voiced the lead and took Tommy Vercetti from just a game character to someone real. I recently played the remaster and Liotta's voice acting still hits right. He was fantastic in Goodfellas too. Rest in peace.
‘Tax’ Kotaku using hyperbole to whip up a frenzy. Most other websites have written ‘upgrade cost’ or ‘fee’.
Looks great, although the real game is being made with Creation Engine 2.
I'd like to see a trailer made with Dreams by that guy who remade the train station demo.
“The days of Metacritic determining how well a game sells are long gone”. Good. For too long privileged, political and elitist video game hack reporters have often coordinated to abuse their power for games they deem ‘problematic’.
Ghost of Tsushima is a high quality title however after a behind the scenes campaign to ‘raise awareness’ that the game about Japanese people was made by a predominantly American team many in the media gave it a 6/10! Significantly below the me...
I've used and loved N4G for years because it is a place where anybody who enjoys computer and video games can chat about them with others from all backgrounds and all political views. There's no agenda, just relaxed (mostly) game conversations.
Yes there can be console war rivalry! But when it's good natured and people share honest comments about why they prefer one platform and not another there's actually nothing wrong with that. Sometimes people get too c...
@TheRealTedCruz 👍🏼
Has there been anything more concrete said about RDR1?
Considering the GTA Trilogy was like easy money considering it 'significantly exceeded expectations' Take Two would be wise to crank out a GTA IV remaster. The assets are already in HD so to get it running in 4k or 60fps is relatively easy and I for one would like to go back to Liberty City to revisit Nico Bellic.

Before a game is released I believe the right editorial tone the games media should take when covering it is CAUTIOUS OPTIMISM. This means in coverage being hopeful that it will deliver on the actual game the developer is promising (not what the writers wish it was). But also not blindly copying and pasting euphoric publisher press releases, and discussing any glaring issues the upcoming game may have displayed in a reserved tone. So not claiming 'this game is gonna tank so hard ResetEra ...
