There has been no official comment from Rockstar, so it's still speculation, but I'm confused about them 400% zoomed in pictures, where the 360 version seems to be worse than the PS3 version.
http://forum.beyond3d.com/s...
I've played it for about 2 hours straight now, no problems.
"There is the odd low-resolution texture, rare slowdown and occasional pop-in"
low-resolution texture?? hmm..
and this is the 360 version
"Grand Theft Auto IV is out on Xbox360 and Playstation 3. Xbox360 version reviewed.)"
ROFLMAO!!
Seriously, you have no clue what your saying
Proof is here
"Cell will also parallel process geometry and indirect lighting"
http://en.wikipedia.org/wik...
Gears 1 not being run on the PS3 is one of the funniest statements I've heard, ty.
They said because of RAM?, XDR is much much faster, powerful and more efficient than the 360's...
We haven't received confirmation from Rockstar, so do you have proof from a credible source instead of forum post?
Rockstar even told gamespot what the resolutions both versions are at....
"Rockstar also told us at this point that while the game will support 1080p, the game will only run in 720p natively"
http://uk.gamespot.com/ps3/...
Also
"Note: to enable 1080p on the PS3 the user must select custom under display settings...
I saw slight frame rate dips and slight tearing on the 360 version, which does not exist on the PS3 version.
and to let you know, that the RGB spectrum being set to full instead of limited expands the color palette, enabling superwhite aswell might improve things too.
"The PS3's extra processing power enables the game to run at a much smoother framerate, with less heating issues"
So what's this about install's improving frame rates bots?
No, 360, ps2 & wii are holding back the PS3.
What you mean by "hype"???
You honestly think Gears 2 has an edge over KZ2?, the 360 just clearly, CANNOT do realistic animations like KZ2 has done, it cannot process geometry, nor indirect lightning (KZ2 is also doing that, thank's to the Cell), and you can even do shaders on Cell, and your saying it's all hype? rofl
Sony spent over a billion on the Cell, I HARDLY think it's all hype.
Well, published by EA.
Burnout had no install
"“Dark Sector,” “Call of Duty 4,” “Burnout Paradise” — all multi-platform titles without installs"
http://multiplayerblog.mtv....
In the PS3's first year, it had games that the 360 just simply couldn't do, Heavenly Sword had great graphics, 1000 enemies on the screen at once and it still kept the game running at a smooth frame rate.
Again, nice post :P
I heard on a forum, that the 360's UMA shared RAM is just slow as hell, and in order to operate it you must have EDRAM?
No one is really taking into account that the RSX is designed to use OpenGL to it's fullest, and what can OpenGL do?, EVERYTHING DirectX 10 can do and a whole lot more.
EDRAM is just hype
Halo 3 = 640p, no AA
360's CPU = just a piss poor comparision to the CELL.
Well this is interesting, I've yet to see an install on PS3 from EA, unless you can name some.
"Uh, the whole install into the HDD thing is what's making the PS3 version have less pop-ups because it's using cached data that's saved on the hard drive"
Uncharted = no install although slight pop-in
Heavenly Sword = no install, no pop-in (far as I know, no review has mentioned it)
and your saying installations reduces them? lol
I never said anything bad about HDD install's anyway, so I don't see your point on that.
The opt...
@aiphanes
I saw that in another article, you can do the same to COD4
@above
um, you can't do that on dashboard, he mean't XMB
Halo 3 had the same issues, which is how it got dumbed down to 640p to improve frame rates, but this is happening to a multiplatform game....Halo 3 res happened in an exclusive...
Dumbing down the resolution on an exclusive is far far more embarrasing then it happening to a multiplatform....
@below
ROFL, dude, you don't know what your saying, you name me at least ONE PS3 exclusive that has had to dumb down the resolution to improve the frame rate....
