I was thinking the same thing. It has been pretty much radio silence since the reveal.
The greatest thing that happened to gaming was the release of the NES with Super Mario Bros, which brought the industry back from the video game crash of 1983. With such a rich history that spans decades saying the best thing that's happened to gaming is a subscription service is beyond ridiculous.
Highly recommended. It is basically what would happen if you made Shovel Knight into a full fledged Metroidvania. I hope the Switch port helps this little gem become more of a household name.
It was the only thing that could make it stand out against all the fps of the era. The war was still going on and it was a touchy subject. Now with everything that has been going on in the world nobody cares. This game was a product of its time and I'm sure when it comes out it won't make a blip in anyone's radar.
Very underrated game! I think this game should be up there with the Metroidvania greats!
Nowadays you can enjoy the story of a game without even playing it if that's what you really care about. Here's the thing, no one has a problem with games having an easy mode. If it's there, it's there. The thing is demanding games have an easy mode. If the developers don't feel like adding one that's their choice. Some people just suck at certain games. It happens. If they are not willing to put in the effort to get better and there's no difficulty options then th...
Narrative games tend to have options. But they are using Dark Souls as the prime example on this article. A game where you die over and over and the story is not a linear narrative. You have to read through item descriptions, do cryptic side quests and try to find the npc interactions to have a whole picture. If you want to learn the story you can always watch a YouTube video breaking it down for you. Also games like Cuphead are all about the gameplay. The story is almost non existent. Again,...
Easy modes have always existed. It's not a modern concept. And I didn't say anywhere that easy modes SHOULDN'T exist. I'm saying that if a game doesn't have an easy mode and it's too much for you it is what it is. The developers don't have an obligation to add them. Like in the real world, not everything is going to cater to everyone.
Dark Souls has options... You can summon people to help you through the game. Makes the challenge much more palatable. The point is if you know a game is famous for being hard, you know it has no easy mode, and you know you're not up to the challenge, just avoid the game. If a game has the option for an easy mode and you want to switch to that, more power to you. But games don't HAVE to have an easy mode. It's up to the developers and their vision.
There's also nothing wrong with accepting a game is too hard for you. Growing up during the 8 bit era games were BRUTAL. If you couldn't beat them you couldn't beat them. Ghosts N Goblins, Ninja Gaiden and Battletoads are games I'll never beat. It is what it is. I never wanted an easy mode just to go through the motions.
I'd love to see a Jumping Flash sequel for PSVR. Also an Ape Escape game that takes advantage of all the Dualsense features!
You'd be surprised about how much stupid stuff can be patented. Some guy had patented the word "Edge" for video games (the reason Soul Edge on PS1 was renamed Soul Blade) and would just sue any game company that had the word Edge on their game titles. Eventually a court decided that you can't just patent a common word like that and revoked his patent.
Take a look at the Spiderman games running at 60fps with ray tracing. There's no way the PS5 can't manage to pull those effects off. The Series S which is inferior hardware also has the effects. And in the DF video they say that this must be a bug. This is clearly an optimization issue with the backwards compatibility.
The missing effects seem like a bug. No reason why they would remove effects that the PS4 Pro can do. Hoping there's a patch soon.
Koei had patented the ai for being attacked by mobs (US patent 6729954) which was why on most games where you fight multiple opponents they take turns like idiots to beat you up. The Nemesis system was great. It's too bad patenting it like this will most likely squander its potential.
According to How Long to Beat 9.5 hours main story, 22 hours for completionists.
I'm torn. I have to choose between a stutter during gameplay or an inferior photo mode.
Tenchu.
Final Fantasy XV and Fallout 4 higher rated than Monster Hunter World... Right...
There are such things as minimum requirements to run games. There's only so much you can downscale.
