There's a bit of a rumor going around that the PS3 will be the lead platform for Madden 09 based on a G4 interview. Who's to say if this is true or not, but I thought it was interesting to note.
60fps is achievable on the PS3 (as there are games that are currently running very well at that speed), it's all up to the developers.
Seeing that the 80G is cheaper to make than the 60G (for a variety of reasons) I don't believe it is a viable solution for them to retain the $600 price tag. He can't make any mention of a lower price. If he hinted at that at all, many would hold off on getting the 60G simply b/c they see the 80G as a better value. It really isn't,but many in the public will see it as so despite the fact that it isn't.
My opinion. 80G bundle introduced for $599 until $499 60G model sells out. Sony drops the bundle and changes price of 80G to $499. It'd be foolish to introduce the 80G for $499 with 60G's still sitting on shelves. They'd have to further drop the price of the 60G's to sell them. 80G's won't sell well (if at all) until the supply of 60G's are gone. Once that happens, prior to the Christmas holiday, maybe even before Thanksgiving in the US, they announce the $499 price. No more bundle, just a $4...
While they are winning a new audience, I feel they are alienating the true crowd. The people who buy multiple titles a year are the backbone of the industry b/c it is software the defines a console. While Mario, Metroid and Smash Bros are quality games for core (or real) gamers, Nintendo's past and apparent future of releasing a lot of high quality software on their consoles hasn't exactly been good. They may sell another 10 million consoles and that's great, but will the people buying these ...

So Wile, did you buy the 360 before Gears or afterwards? B/c until Gears the MS lineup was almost identical in how many quality games it had available. (not to mention the PS2's much better library as BC games)
Sony and MS had very solid shows. I give the edge to Sony b/c of Killzone looking so good, but MS had a very solid show as well. Nintendo basically sucked. Watching their conference was painful. I'd almost prefer a Phantom after watching that trainwreck.

I wonder how many Xbot Halo fanboys are on here saying this game looks horrible. To those who are, Halo 3 didn't exactly wow me (or anyone else for that matter) in it's early stages either (aka during the Beta), so don't be a hypocrit.
Warhawk, Heavenly Sword, Haze, Uncharted, Ratchet and Clank, Lair = flawed? No mention of these titles at all? Xbot writing article. IMO the 360 and PS3 both have very strong exclusive games upcoming, the Wii...not so much.

People who grab the Elite want the bigger hard drive and HDMI and are most likely to be audio/videophiles. There is no reason to get a console w/ HDMI if you don't have too unless you want to watch video's IMO. HDMI 1.2 (360) vs HDMI 1.3 (PS3) is a comparison that will go in the favor of the PS3 b/c of audio reasons, though minimal it is something to consider. Also, the PS3's hard drive is easily upgradeable and can be done so for very little money and very little effort,...
Lower developmental costs combined with far more handhelds on the market = profit.
