Server browser should've been in there at launch, when will devs learn this? It's a feature seemingly always neglected but then added in a future update...
I invite you to visit doesitplay.org which is a website with info on whether or not a game is actually on disc, if it requires downloads or online connectivity and other relevant details.
I typically use it before I purchase my physical games because I care A LOT about having actual ownership of my games collection and refuse to support companies that don't have the game files on disc. I waited a year plus to finally buy Alan Wake 2 physically for example, I refused to...
All the comments I see are reminding me of how we got to the current state of gaming when microtransactions were first introduced: "It's completely optional guys, we promise! If you don't like it just don't buy it!"
I think we all know how that ended up.
Relax, go outside and breath some fresh air buddy. It's really not THAT serious...
Is it just me or is it weird how people have become obsessed with Steam player count as the be all, end all statistic?
This isn't rocket science. The game was clearly janky, unfinished and the gameplay was repetitive and limited. Something tells me that if this game didn't carry the Star Wars IP name sales would've been even worse.
All controversy aside, I honestly do wonder why the media have made it a such a huge deal that it doesn't come with a stand? I acknowledge $30 is a bit pricey (I've been on the fence about getting one since it's not necessary) but haven't stands for practically every console that utilizes one been sold separately?
This is one of the first actual reasonable reviews I've read about this game. Too many others focus so much on every aspect of the game BUT gameplay, which is strange because shouldn't that be the main point of a video game review? How it plays and if it's fun? Stranger still, the majority of those reviews claim the "moment-to-moment gameplay" is good and fun but then proceed to severely knock the game because there's not enough progression and unlocks to work toward...
I've had a great time with the game so far but yea it's not looking too good in terms of player count. This feels like Titanfall 2 all over again, which sold very poorly as it was sandwiched between a Battlefield and COD release. Although, that game at least developed a small dedicated base as I played TF2 for about 2 years post-launch. I can only hope the same happens with Concord as I haven't had this much fun in an online shooter in quite some time.
The narrative about this game that I don't understand is how many argue that it should be free-to-play and yet most of those people didn't even bother giving the TWO free betas that were practically open to everybody a fair shot. That argument just feels disingenuous imo.
That being said, I disliked it when I first played. Played a bit more afterwards and found myself actually enjoying the gameplay after familiarizing myself with the mechanics. At the end of the day...
As far as I remember, Armored Core is similar to Final Fantasy in the sense that each game is pretty much it's own contained universe and narrative. I'm pretty sure knowledge of prior games is going to be irrelevant in AC6 and the series' strength lies in the action-packed gameplay anyways. I'm trying to put everybody on to this game because the series is amazing fun and typically has LOTS of (free) customization. I encourage you to give it a shot if possible. I genuinely thin...
There have been many examples of this in various industries in our recent history and yet the general population doesn't seem to understand that in the end, the product AND the customer end up suffering because of these mergers.
They still have 2 whole months to show us gameplay. I'm sure our patience will be rewarded.
Tbh I just never understand why they can't make a game based on OG Dragon Ball. The characters and narrative would lend themselves well to the video game format, I think. An RPG with kid Goku seems like it would be a slam dunk. Plus, as much as I love DBZ, how many damn times do we have to relive the Frieza/Cell/Buu sagas?
Metroidvania style traversal? Side quests? Hidden sub-boss fights? "RPG" lite skill trees? Watching this video I got a nagging sense that I've practically played this game multiple times already...
I wonder if it could be a surprise teaser for the God of War series that's supposedly in the works? The only other possibilities IMO are a DLC announcement or simply a new post-release trailer.
In my humble opinion, PlayStation typically sells so well because they consistently provide what we buy the damn console for in the first place: games! It ain't rocket science.
I know it's out of the devs' control but man is it such a letdown not allowing dismemberment of human enemies. Makes me feel like I'm fighting with a giant glow stick instead of a deadly weapon.
I understand that this game was very divisive but in my personal experiences it always seemed like most people that trashed it never even really gave it a fair chance or flat-out didn't try it.
Death Stranding is definitely not for everybody but I always encourage others to play it because the atmosphere of the game is absolutely brilliant. If nothing else, DS is a much-needed breath of fresh air in an industry saturated with battle royales, hero shooters, etc.
But most industry "experts" and CEOs will STILL tell you single-player games are dead. Ridiculous...
