Dude, that's what MS is all about. In the media and in the consumer market. They have a legion of d*ck wavers that I honestly can't grasp my head around. The 360 never seemed like a superior device...not in hardware quality or software quantity...and yet people still beat their chest over it. Goes to show how far marketing will propel your product in the US. More power to them...but I've never lost sleep over it. lol
Yes, it was a good thing. They put forth the specs, the controller, and some software teases(still coming on strong with the first party exclusives). All good things. They weren't pompous, expressed that they wanted to make games for the hardcore, and make them easier to develop. It's funny trying to see haters bring up doom and gloom articles in order to downplay what has been shown...and failing miserably. LOL The PS3 days are over friends. On to better and brighter things. Th...
Dead on my friend. Avoiding the biased gaming media (which has treated Sony like shit since 2006), by unveiling it early, they cut the competition off at the head. It's all PS4 hype in the news until Microsoft unveils something. Any publicity is good publicity.
Exactly. Seems like the first wave of next gen software is being prepped for this holiday season. No way most devs would have anything by June.
Exactly. No way this thing is releasing in June. terrible time to launch a console even if it were the truth.
June for a console launch?? Terrible time to release it. Great time to unveil it...but launch? No.
If you honestly think this thing is going to be 500, you are deluding yourself. Sony has learned that price point matters for a successful launch. They priced the vita competitively, and they will do the same for PS4. I'm thinking around 399 right out the gate. Sony is prepared to take a loss per console if it means getting their old customers back in droves.
Exactly. I always found that it was silly that you have to pay a FEE in order to access an app in which you already pay a FEE to view movies/shows. No thanks. I think some people just like to waste money.
You can definitely tell who's priorities have shifted and who's have stayed the course.
You forgot the additional 50 for controller batteries, 100 for a bigger hard drive (so you play certain games that require them, Halo), 100 for a wifi device. etc.
They want their mits on that casual market, and they honestly don't care which existing fans they have to throw under the bus in order to get them. This generation was proof of that.
If their focus is on Kinect and entertainment, count me out. That's why they lost me the last half of this generation. I want hardcore games and interactivity with my friends. Simple.
The people on here I swear... Xbox defense force, ACTIVATE. lol
Yeah gameplay is everything! We should go back to playing Atari, because graphics don't matter. lol People kill me.
I'm stoked for a more powerful machine. Means more players online, more stuff going on onscreen, more gameplay options, and yes BETTER LOOKING GAMES. So I like my games to get better visual quality with each generation....it's honestly to be expected.
Looks like some MS fangirls are a little scared that their brand may not be #1 next gen like it was this gen. Times change and superior products come along. It's just the way of things. The PS3 was great in my eyes..honestly don't know how it did so bad in the states. The exclusives were there, the hardware was there. Everything you needed was right there when you bought it. You didn't have to spend an additional 100-200 bucks on accessories. lol
The xbox gives you the illusion of getting a good deal. 200 bucks sounds great, and then you realize all the shit you have to buy on top of it. A hard drive, wifi access, Live, controller batteries etc. It racks up quick. I'm shocked consumers haven't caught on to this nonsense yet.
I honestly do not think Microsoft expected Sony to release anything this year at all. Sony kept this thing insanely close to their chest. After what they saw they kinda had an "Oh shit" moment. I think the Nextbox is so far into hardware production there is no time to tweak it. They will most likely launch around the same time as the PS4, with a slightly less powerful console...judging from the leaked Durango specs. But then again, those are just rumors. I want the damn thing ...
Pretty much. You can't hinge the success of your console on Halo and Gears alone. Give people more instead of a Kinectbox.
I'll get the 720 eventually when I have more money. But I know at launch, PS4 for sure. I'll give MS a year or two to prove to me that it still has hardcore chops. I'm not buying it for purely Halo alone.
Pretty much this. They turned their back on the hardcore about midway through this generation. I don't see them returning any time soon. I'm not buying a console for purely Halo alone.
Nvidia crying like little bitches over losing a hardware contract. Nothing to see here folks. Move along.
