Well said Tor. People would rather b1tch about top 10 lists and stupid sh1t instead of debating over seriously more important things in the industry. I think the best example, especially on THIS site, is how the utterly stupid and fallacious "Uncharted 2 is sloppy" article from Kotaku is getting hits, but a GREAT piece by them a few months back talking about hand holding in videogames was ENTIRELY overlooked.

The entire article is predicated on the idea that the game doesn't conform to its own fiction. His pretty much only example is that Drake kills a guy near the start by pulling him off the edge. If the author took the time to do a little research, you would see the guy doesn't die, and swims away to the rocks shortly after. Therefore, this entire article is basically moot. So what, exactly, are you "agreeing with?" And I don't mean that in a snide way.

LOL. MW2 is okay, but not as good as CoD4. And GT's hypocrisy when it comes to sequels is so utterly apparent after their UC2 and MW2 reviews, I won't bother wasting my time.

It's Joe Mad's style. I think they did a great job of translating his anime-inspired style to 3d models (something not easy to do I must say).
The game is totally playable. The framerate isn't GREAT, but it doesn't really detract from the game either. The art design and gameplay are so solid that if you can only get it on PS3, and enjoy DMC style combat, I suggest you pick it up!
I dislike review hyperbole. Bayonetta is closer to DMC than GoW. I never saw DMC/GoW comparisons back in the day?
Ah well, will purchase and enjoy both.
I will be buying this game. While I'm disappointed in the port quality, I think it could be the start of a great franchise and a great successor to DMC (which needs a bit of a restart/boost after the iffy part 4). Bayonetta will join my shelf proudly next to both NG's, GoW3 and Collection, Darksiders and Dante's.

Actually, I'd say ODST was about right. While the fanbase overhyped it as they tend to do any Halo game, the actual media didn't really push it above Halo 3.
Overhype of the year would be MW2... which totally did NOT deliver anything more than a mediocre rehash. Bad game? No. But severely overhyped.
You know it's funny... I see so many people arguing over whether or not MS gets any of my money. The thing is, I don't care. This isn't about "denying MS my money" or whatever lame crackpot theory the Xbox fannies have concocted this time. It's about the fact that I don't need to buy a piece of hardware that I frankly don't need, in order to play a bunch of awesome games.
