Damn, I'm stuck with the superior PC edition. Woe is me.
I think the sales of MW2 just proved that devs can release pretty much anything with a big name these days and people will buy it regardless of flaws sadly.
Thankfully, Bungie is FAR more talented than IW, so I don't think this will be an issue.
I own both Sigmas (and have the old series on my PSP). It's an acquired taste, lacks any real story. It's ALL about the combat. I'd prefer more platforming actually like the old days.
I will be purchasing this. And Darksiders. And maybe Dante's. And God of War 3...
Bungie is a way, way talented team and I respect them greatly.
But ODST is what it is. And we all know what it is...
Also STILL no Gravemind battle? Really?!
Love - Moving environments
Hate - no coop? really?
Think I'll STILL have to pass, and grab AoT:TFD instead.
Haha, why does it sound like 2009 was just downplayed?
Now just fix the horrible netcode. My game told me I fired first. They guy bled. Then i died. My connection is great. So wtf IW?
*sigh*
"Year of" is a buzz term with no actual definition. Give me a definition, and I still wont' care. 2009 was great for gamers. 2010 will also be great for gamers. Go play games. If a title selling 1 more or less copy changes your perceived entertainment value of said game, you have issues.
Great game, holds up pretty well, but was kind of short and lacked any real incentives for replay from what I could tell. Still, just finished again recently, and now on to Warrior Within.
Yup. There was a GREAT article from Kotaku a while back about how gaming is getting too easy/dumbed down. It was really well written and thoughtful.
Never even showed up here. But man, if we can argue why game X on console Y rules/sucks... ho man. Hits a plenty.
We're just as much to blame for game media being a joke these days.
2009 was a great year for me. Bought at least 15 games!
This "the year of" crap has gotten old. It's become a buzzterm slung by fanboys and the media to garner hype or mock, similar to "AAA." It has no actual definition. The 360 isn't going anywhere. Nor is the PS3 or Wii. It's kind of sad that the media plays the console allegiance game just as much. If he is talking console sales, which would be utterly stupid, I believe the PS3 outsold the 360 world wide last year. Does that make 2008 year of the PS3? God the media is disapp...
Indeed, I agree with you to a point. A Trophy should require SKILL. But it should be MY skill, not based on how much I do/don't play the game in relation to other people. If it was kill X people in 10 seconds, sure, cool. But the whole "be in the top 3% for the week" thing just rubs me the wrong way, because OTHER people dictate that, not MY skill.
Very nice. Congrats to GG. I had 3 main complaints however that I hope are rectified in KZ3 -
1) Aiming needed work (but was patched)
2) Classes needed better balancing. It could get a little excessive with rockets and choke points in the maps (smaller games were best!)
3) Online trophies? No thanks.
Still, amazing game, and far superior to MW2 IMHO.
My main issue is the horrible netcode. You've all seen it. You fire first, then die, and the killcam shows you never even fired. Gotta love it. Disgusting.
5 AC-130s. With no deaths. You can't stack them like that.
Oh wait it gets better. Highrise domination. ONE person never left the stairwell, but was able to call in 5 AC-130s. He went 79 and 0. Explain.
Wow. This ignore feature is great. No more having to deal with idiots and their spewing stupidity. You should all try it!
So is this the demo hitting PSN?
I'm far more worried about titles going more and more casual/mainstream, as evidenced by healing after every battle and the "restart" option....
You guys can whine about Sony vs MS all you want, as the REAL problem starts tearing down games as we know them.
