..but sadly no suprises. No matter as I'm getting more and more excited for Too Human, and naturally look foward to Gears 2, and Fable 2. Hopefully Banjo turns out as good as it looks.
It's going to be another awesome holiday season, and another one full of tough decisions on what to buy.
It' so amusing when pirates ask what's wrong with playing games on a memory stick, but try and cover up by saying they're only playing the games they own. Sure. Clearly you wouldn't dare go to Blockbuster and throw that PSP game you rented on your memory card. NAW, you just play what you OWN *wink* *wink*
The guy has done wonders on PSP, but while some of it was for the greater good, some of it only hurt the PSP. Considering the very solid hardware sales, software sales are terrible because piracy is rampant on PSP. As a gamer who happens to love his hobby I don't want to see the Playstation 3 ruined because of pirates using the latest firmware work-arounds to run ISO loaders, etc..
Sony doesn't need this headache on PS3.
The Rare owned by Microsoft is a far cry from the Rare of the N64 days when they could do no wrong. Judging by their Xbox/360 titles released so far I'd say yes they've been dead for some time. They couldn't even get a port of Diddy Kong racing right.
These screens look very good, but the jury's still out on whether the Rare owned by Microsoft can actually make a good platformer. Judging by their track record in the post N64 era I'm not going to get my hopes up.
Viva Pinata simply isn't the type of game that appeals to everyone. It's a garden/animal tending game vying for the attention of an installed base that craves space marine shooters.
I loved the first Banjo, but the Rare that made that game is not the Rare that Microsoft purchased. It's a watered down version that can't seem to deliver a good game (Viva Pinata must've been a fluke). If the reviews wind up being good I'll bite, otherwise I Banjo is dead.
...and $35 used. Throw in free online and mod support, and I can't think of a reason to buy the 360 version if you own both consoles.
It's not saying the PSP is the second best selling console of all time, it's saying it's the best selling "second place" system. In other words, the N64 was in second place in it's generation. The Xbox was in second place last gen. Get it? It's the most successful "second place" system ever.
As I PS3 owner I don't recall Sony ever forcing me to buy their console? Did Nintendo force people to buy the original GBA and DS only to release better versions later? Did Microsoft force anyone to buy a premium 360 only to release the Elite? Who wrote this story? Pretty pathetic when such an immature article passes as news.
The actual arcade Soul Calibur ran on the system 12 board (same as Tekken 3). Is that what's coming to Live, or is it the Dreamcast remix?

Um..Banjo was never that great to begin with, and THAT was when Rare was the REAL Rare. The morons who brought you Viva Pinata Party, Grabbed by the Ghoulies, Kameo, and PD Zero are leagues below Insomniac. They are incapable of making great games that sell well.
Some of your comparison's are downright hilarious, but you are right in that God of War 3 is a 2009 game (March).
It's funny now that BluRay polished off HDDVD you see these nonsense comments that Micro never wanted a format they were behind to succeed. If HDDVD had beaten BluRay we'd be reading stories of how it was all a strategic move that paid off in Micro's favor, and how dedicated they've always been to it.
...I can't help but feel that it's best days are behind it. It's all about the games and for Micro to lose three of their biggest contributors, (as well as the developer of their best franchise) doesn't bode well for their gaming portfolio in the years to come.
They pissed away their chance for a Crackdown sequel, have gotten nothing substantial out of Rare since buying them, and Silcon Knights can't seem to release a game but once every five years.

Hackers have killed PSP's software sales. Only a fool wouldn't admit that PSP software sales are in the toilet, while hardware sales are solid.
Like I stated before, I own all of the systems, so naturally I do read the reviews first. If GTA4 is somehow superior on 360 then I'll buy that version (actually I currently have the 360 version preordered).
Something to consider is online play. With PS3 it's free, and with my LIVE Gold membership running out in June I'm more interested than ever in playing online without having to spend another $50 on LIVE.

I favored my 360 far more, but that's now starting to change. I no longer care so much about Gamerscore and with my Live gold membership up in a few months I'm now shifting over to PS3 for future multiplayer online titles, and just multiplatform games in general. I'm suprised at how dated it looks. Remember when these graphics were the most incredible graphics around? Awesome game, and easily my favorite of the SB/SC series. Namco's always been very generous and I can't shake the feeling that if it wasn't for DLC, we'd have gotten this as a bonus on SC4's disc.
