They know it's game over for HD DVD, and are desperately doing whatever they can to keep it on life support. Only a matter of time before Paramount is on board with Blu Ray and then it's officially over.
One one hand it was perfectly fine for Gerstmann to be fired because he doesn't give the scores some folks around here want to see, yet those same people are against Gamespot for allowing big business to have influence on review scores! To those people I say make up your frickin' mind! Either you're for the freedom to give an honest opinion (whether you agree with it means nothing),or you're for review scores being influenced by big game companies.
I agree.
Has Destructoid ever given any game a score higher than 7? They seem to enjoy handing out so-so scores to major releases.
If you think Guerilla games is as good as Epic. You shouldn't bash Gears of War so much, because Gears of War is only a 360 exclusive for the first two games. The third could very well be on PS3 as well as 360, which would be awesome for everyone.
Only jackasses cheer for sites and reviewers that are puppets for the desires of the big publishers.
But I'm honestly not interested in buying any "lightgun" games anymore. I've already played/owned the best ones ever made, and am pretty much done with the genre.
The people that called for his firing and those that bash websites/mags that give "low" scores to their precious games lack the maturity to realize that they're doing more harm than good. Mags and websites that will give out fake high scores out of fear doesn't benefit us.
Those that bash EGM (1up) are fools and are too young and dumb to realize that EGM is the only magazine that's had the balls to stand up to a big publisher. In the SNES era Capcom threw a hissy fit and p...
I can't really see what's so appealing about "hurting" a videogame character. Even as a simple time waster there are better choices out there on PSN and XBLA.
The Uncharted engine (whatever it is) is amazing. Forget overtextured steroid fueled freaks, the characters in Uncharted are the most realistic yet.
The others are stills taken from the unveiling video. Killzone 2 is the most overhyped game of this generation, and it's hype is 100% because of the graphics, which honestly aren't any better than what we've already seen in other games.
I also would like to see some different environments besides the drab brown and gray worn torn city. As someone else pointed out some color would most certainly be nice. While I'm also looking foward to this game, it's with a grain of salt because whi...
Whether you like it or not, there's no denying that it's a hit. While some view it as an ego booster, I think it's simply a genius method of driving gamers to get more out of their games. At least it encourages me to play games even after finishing them.
FREE! Nothing beats free downloadable content. Now if only Sony would offer some of the Motorstorm dlc for free :(
Occasionally firmware updates can mess up a console so I usually wait until I hear of others who've downloaded before doing so myself.
The games I'm interested in in 2008
Soul Calibur 4-360/PS3 (please Namco put Kratos in the game)
Ghost Busters-PS3/360
Infamous-PS3
MGS4-PS3
Smash Bros Brawl-Wii
Mariokart-Wii
Too Human-360
Fable 2-360
Ninja Gaiden 2-360
GTA4-360/PS3
Burnout-PS3/360
Tekken-PS3
multiplatform embracing ftw
When websites run high review scores just to keep themselves from upsetting rabid fanboys who constantly want their games to be 9s and 10s.
As for the firing there had to be more to it. I find it impossible to believe he was fired because of a Kane and Lynch review, when everyone and their mother is scoring the game in the 6 range.
It's also nice to have multiplatform titles with the PS3 version being the lead.
I plan on getting it for Christmas, and love the demo, but it's a little disheartening to hear some of those that played through it, are regretting their purchase or are ready to trade it in.
Is there any incentive to play through more than once? Unlockables?
..but that's not always how things work. If your logic was the case 100% of the time then Team Ninja would've never touched an Xbox, because Ninja Gaiden and Dead or Alive 3 could've sold millions more copies if it were on PS2. Sure MGS4 would sell a lot more copies on 360, but like I said, it's most likey that Sony is helping Konami financially with the game in order to secure it as an exclusive. It's entirely possible and I think you know that.
As for the xbot comment, don't take i...
Because Cleveland.com's opinion on videogames is so crucial to everyone's buying decision.
