The unupdated wikipedia list you mention has Wii data up to March 31st, 2007 and a 360 game that released this year on that list. You are using a press release that is nearly two years old. I think your info is the one that is outdated.

Do you really believe all those games individually sold more than MGS3 or GOW? MGS3 sold about 4 million. You are telling me that Hotshots golf and ATV before they were added to the PS2 greatest hit list sold more than MGS3?
Also keep in mind that the article is almost 2 years old and sales for all of these titles at that time would have been a little lower than they are today. Considering that killzone doesn't even show as a million copy seller on either wikipedia or vgchar...

Considering that the Cell is constantly under attack(by myself as well), information like this is definitely good to see on this site.
As a dev (non game programmer though) I fail to see the benefit in this. I thought not having to use cache lines was a benefit of the Cell processor. Also any multithreaded language has atomicy/thread synchronization support that is provided to the developer.

What I find suprising is the fact that overall Sony operated this quarter at a loss due to the games division. MS still posted close to 5 billion profit this quarter despite the loss in the games and entertainment division.
What I don't get is if sales for the PS3 are not good, and Sony is losing money on each PS3 sold than one would expect the losses wouldn't be as high as they are

I downloaded the demo and after looking at these pics and the real life comparison posted earlier this week, I don't remember it looking as good as these pics. I have a Sharp Aquos running 1080p, 4ms refresh rate and 10,000 contrast ratio so can't blame the difference on the TV
The pics look good for all 3 games. Car wise it looks pretty equal, but the road, grass, and all other non car stuff looks more realistic in GTHD.
Sony fanboys have no idea how the cell is programmed. Sony themselves haven't proven why the Cell is better for games than the Xenon. Even the guys who own all the consoles have a favorite out of the bunch, and will get even a little defensive when someone talks trash about it.

Let's see in the last couple of years they had exploding batteries, PS2 class action suit, and the rootkit fiasco. Defective batteries and consoles is one thing, and we can chalk that up to poor testing. Although it's not acceptable, it wasn't intentional and I am sure Sony learned from their mistakes. I own two 360's. One for about a year the second is the elite. Both are still used pretty regularly. I haven't had any problems.
