The disagrees come from the fact that Oni was a terrible, terrible game. Note the lack of a sequel, or even a recognizable fanbase. Oni = Bad.

...that at the top of the page, the title reads "Eight Extremely Embarrassing E3 Moments for PS3" ? Seems like there's a clever fanboy at Gamepro =P.

Never heard of International Copyright Law? Doesn't matter if it's a company in Korea, New Line could sue the pants off of them for what is obviously a blatant rip off of not only graphical content, but entire camera cuts and battle scenes, which have been replicated with MINIMAL changes. I seriously doubt this falls under any sort of parody law either.

There are some in game shots there - specifically, look at the shot that appears to be a gas station. Both the tree and the sign are much too low poly to be prerendered objects, so I expect you're seeing in game assets in at least that shot, and possibly the archer shot. Use your eyes, people!

This is very true, which is the reason why I didn't spout any fanboy garbage about 360 somehow being better than PS3. I firmly believe that PS3 is a much more powerful system all around, and in the end, will end up being the lead platform for nearly all game development, with the exception of 360 exclusive titles. I appreciate you not spouting a bunch of fanboy nonsense at me though, unlike SOME people in this thread. Bubbles for you.

I must respectfully disagree with your comment that folding@home started as a graphics program, since the original client came out back in 2000 and was entirely CPU based. There weren't even GPU based calculations for folding@home until less than 2 years ago. Yes, PS3 kicks butt at folding, since the folding@home program we use on our PS3's was made specifically for the system, but all that proves is that PS3 is very good at crunching numbers. The Cell chip itself has much more practical use ...

You're correct in stating that Sony doesn't hype up it's games. What neglect to mention is that Sony hypes the crap out of it's own consoles. So, your logic applies to the situation and Sony found itself in until only VERY recently, and I'd still say it has a ways to go before it can re-establish itself as a market leader. Say what you will about games being just games because of their marketing, but when you overhype your own console, you're just asking for a slap in the face.

Did they seriously recommend God Hand over DMC4? What kinda of crack are they smoking....?

That's odd, since a couple of the shots are from Avalanche, which JUST came out. I think you're thinking of pictures someone released showing Halo 3 with a more Gears of War type color scheme (lots of earth, desaturated colors in comparison with Halo's more vivid color scheme.) These shots are new.

2 Billion people? 5 Billion people? 150 Billion People? Where are you getting these numbers from? According to your fact, I think the entire population of Earth just got killed like...20 times or something.

Did you seriously just cheer on someone killing an American soldier? Or someone killing someone else, period? People like you deserve to burn.

Glad you managed to pull that neat factoid out of the staged argument between the two editors. An A+ for you.

Gamestop Corporate pulls this stuff all the time, dates change in the computer, and often times, a game is "in stock" for up to two weeks before it's actually released. MGS4 is such a high profile release though, that it'll almostly certainly have a very specific street date that cannot be broken (although that doesn't mean somebody won't break it somewhere.) Just because the MGS4 LE is in the store earlier doesn't mean it'll be on sale earlier, so don't get your hopes up too high. ...

I won't actually click the Disagree button, but the human eye can detect well over 200 frames per second. However, Haze doesn't need to play any faster than 30 fps, depending on how the the final image is post processed. If Ubisoft has motion blur added throughout gameplay, as the footage you've linked suggests, then 30 fps should be totally acceptable.

People blow this garbage about 600/640p and low framerates WAY out of proportion. If the game is fun, play it and quit whining...

Congratulations on defeating your own argument. As the story description states, this is a MOD of Crysis, not a total conversion. And the last time I checked, a mod of a game does not equal modifying the code of a game. Therefore, this IS the pre-alpha status of a MOD.

Just so everybody commenting on how awesome this engine looks is properly informed, keep in mind that this footage is taken from an artist working in Maya. It's a modeling and animation program, and what you're seeing is NOT the White Engine, but rather the model that will be exported to the White Engine later, if it IS in fact an in game level. Judging between the camera animation manipulated by this artist, and the recent trailer release, this Maya scene is most likely an in-development CG ...

1.1 and 1.4 reported as offensive. So damn ignorant.

Why the hell would you want 64 players for this game on ANY system? The maps simply aren't designed for that many players, it would be a chaotic and unplayable mess.
