I'll probably wait for more 2D/3DS games. Already got a VITA from BF 2013 for some portable entertainment.
Not a fan of Nintendo 1st party games and Pokemon, but I'm kind of interested with FE:A, RF4, KH3D and maybe MH4 if it gets localized.
I feel like a 3DS hardware update is coming soon though. Maybe 2014 TGS?
Hope I don't get tempted by a $ 99 2DS this Black Friday.
Too bad I have a habit of turning off power strips or unplugging devices when I don't use them.

That's one of my major issue with the VITA.
It has so much potential but keeps falling flat even compared to its predecessor.
I'm very ambivalent to how Sony is handling it.

It would be a nice gesture if the rest of the cut content is sold as a reasonable DLC (optional) if UBI really thinks it's bad to give the full content for $ 39.99.
Better to remove the stigma of "castrated VITA game". I don't think those few extra VITA only levels would really cut it to remove that taste.
I hope that one day, we can do this on the VITA (Installing the full game from Physical Carts) and a simple DRM to alleviate the abuse of such (weekly/monthly handshake?).

Problem with the article IMO, is the implied heavy reliance on Bioshock VITA (as an exclusive). This is officially still up in the air.

Because there are also adults who are "under 7 years" at heart and in terms of gaming tastes and budget appeal.
That $ 40 dollars can get you about a months meal depending on w/c country you live (yes there are still poor gaming addicts w/c companies wouldn't mind exploiting).
Even if it will release only in 1st world countries, it can easily fit in the market due to the price point (get another game instead for 40 bucks/don't care for 3D). ...

I doubt this unit uses gorilla glass or something else for the bottom screen since the aim is for a much cheaper device.
Seems to have questionable ergonomics specially for smaller hands (kids).
(Then again the large sides might be better for grips)
Sony should definitely tame the memory card pricing more and really push PS Plus on the VITA.
Those combination is a very good starting set to get a good feel/experience with the system before plunging hundreds of dollars of buying games they may not be too sure or confident with.
The PS4 (w/c is ultimately magnitudes more popular than Sony's new handheld) may essentialy do more for the VITA than the VITA itself have been doing because of "indirect VITA ads" Sony may put on PS4 banners/slip ins/etc.

Experience/quality is more subjective.
