I never said that Nintendo is failing the casual gamer. Just the "core" gamer.
@ scissor_runner:
What Nintendo did in the past regarding the rate they put out good games is irrelevant in this new era where gaming has become a top entertainment choice for so many. I don't buy Cable or watch much TV outside of the news, I game. Since the Wii is relatively underpowered and misses out on the majority of multi-platform core games, the problem is compounded even ...
I hope you guys get at least some sort of entertainment value out of it. :)
1. Twilight Princess was supposed to have been released for GC back in 2004 but was delayed to be used as a Wii launch title. Many people who weren't satisfied with the style of Wind Waker felt cheated and were "starving". Once TP was released, and as good as the game was, was seen to be a GC port people again felt cheated to some extent and began to expect something sooner than Nintendo plans to offer it.
2. Metroid Prime 3 was a beautiful game, and rather fun, but asi...
I'm not buying that crap they're trying to force-feed me. If Wii-Speak pans out then I'll get it separately. I'd only end up wiping my ass with Animal Crossing Wii, so they won't get a cent from me for it.
Hope grows.
1. Marketing and advertising does cause core gamers to become aware of games they might not be aware of otherwise. Especially 3rd party games. Think about it, especially from a Nintendo standpoint. Nerds like us notwithstanding, the average hardcore Wii owner MIGHT use the internet for game info every once in a while. Say they come across N4G? What are the chances that a game like No More Heroes is going to be on the front page? Or even in the first 3 or so pages? If anything, Mario-this-or-t...
And a game, thought process, or belief that contradicts such interpretations isn't an attack on someones values. It might possibly be seen as an affront to some perceived authoritative stance. But so what?
I won't be buying products from you that have this attitude behind them anymore Nintendo. I mean how hard would it have been to put a little bit of work into the graphics and at least give options for online rather than dictate the little they offer here? I'm sick of it.
Outside of Tales of Symphonia 2, it just may be the best 3rd party Wii game left to be released this year. IMO it will be ALOT better than the "PS2 game w/waggle" Star Wars: The Force Unleashed about to be released.
Not because it's not a great value, but because its price makes it something beyond a luxury for most people. The PS3 is doing o.k. right now in sales. But if Sony wants it to be significantly better, they have to find a way to lower costs enough for the value to start speaking to the people who are content with their DVD collection and would settle for a $199 Xbox 360 for Multiplatform games since it is so extremely affordable. Someone once said that $199 is the console price sweet spot. If ...
If they do come up with a system where you download a much smaller file for a game, then connect online to play it from their servers then I think that all would be good. If you are downloading games onto your Wii, then you have Wireless internet, or access to it. It would be Win/Win.
But that I'm glad about. I feared that that game was dead. Even so, the recent screens of it looked very PS2ish. The gameplay better be off the hook.
...a bunch of non-information.
Oh! You're working on a storage solution just like you said months ago?
Oh! It's not necessarily a Hard Drive?
Oh! You think that Animal Crossing is what I want from you as pretty much your only offering through the end of the year?
Oh! There's a Zelda game being worked on, but you can't tell us anything, just like a few moths ago when you couldn't tell us anything?
Surprise, surprise.
Once this game gets actually finished, and then polished up, it will look amazing. People don't realize that it already looks as good as it does more or less as a skeleton.
Make games as "accessible" as you want, but do it through various difficulty modes. Don't gimp an entire game just for a certain demographic. Make an easier, "accessible", silly, etc. mode, and have other modes/aspects of games be normal. Is it really that hard, or expensive to do on a Wii game? I don't think so.
The article says:
"While it's true that in terms of raw power, the Wii is far outclassed by the HD consoles, it is far better than it has been given credit for."
It does not in any way attempt to make the Wii equal to the PS3 or Xbox 360 in terms of power. As for the original comments made about how The Conduit will look:
"Eric Nofsinger of HVS has stated: "We want the game to look as close as possible to the 360 and PS3. It’ll look a...
...then I'm sorry, but you probably shouldn't be voting.
Looks like the haters didn't read the parts of the article they needed to read most:
"But first, let's take a look at what these claims are exactly so that people can cool off. Eric Nofsinger of HVS has stated: "We want the game to look as close as possible to the 360 and PS3. It’ll look as pretty as it can look within the resolution." There was never a claim by HVS that The Conduit will look equal to Gears of War, or Killzone 2. Relax. Stop feeling threatened, and...
I just hope the game doesn't suck balls.
reminds me of a Bruce Willis style movie.
"He lost his friend while doing his job so he quit. But now, as Disaster strikes the city, only he is up to the task of saving it. Bruce Willis stars in - Disaster: Day of Crisis! Coming soon to Japan and the EU. American release date will be decided on as soon as the Hurricane season is over."
Anyway, the game looks like it has constantly changing gameplay elements which should keep it fast paced and entertaining. ...
