Bring it. Just be sure to put the controls focus on the GC controller.
That's what I want to know. Casual gamers, younger children, and grandparents weren't waiting to hear what Nintendo would announce at E3. It was the core gamers. It is increasingly more sad to me, how much Nintendo is out of touch with what I want/value as a gamer. I hope that they learn from this.
Hence, why these estimates are classified as rumors here at N4G...
People act like this guy is trying to pass these numbers off as the absolute truth. It's pathetic that so many here are offended/threatened by this form of speculative entertainment for us gamers. Sometimes they do alright, sometimes they don't do so hot. But NPD only reports for America, so we have no other way to have even a remote idea of what's going on worldwide. If you don't like VGChartz, then do yourself, and the...
...the article is saying that the 3 billion the PS2 made were profits after recovering initial losses and development costs. Of course the total money involved in sales was much more, but it's profit that matters, which is why that's the number being used. Remember, the PS2, not unlike the PS3 worked to make DVD mainstream, and cost alot to produce initially. Sony lost alot of money, but bounced back to make the aforementioned 3 billion in profit. That cushion has now been absorbed by the PS3...
You are correct of course that price to some extent is a part of the Wii's success. However, the way you present this seems to be an attempt to belittle the Wii. Not to mention that here at N4G, such things bring all of the haters, and those who feel threatened by the Wii's success out of the woodwork. (As if their own choice of console suffers because of the Wii).
It was reported yesterday that Tiger Woods 08 and 09 have sold better on the Wii than any other console, and that sp...
I think the most positive thing about this game is that as good as it seems to be, it is a 3rd party offering. If Nintendo were to publish it then we may get a push for more of the decent 3rd party Wii games to be published by Nintendo, which would give us this:
1st party games would continue to typically be awesome.
2nd party games would be where it's at for outsiders if they can get Nintendo to bite.
3rd party games would slip farther and farther into ...
With as much profit as Nintendo has been making they should take one for the team on Wii Motion plus. They admitted that the Wii remote was insufficient as was without the stronger wrist strap, and jacket and they fixed it without cost to their loyal customers. They should do the same with Wii-motion plus, and slightly raise the price of new Wii remotes that come with the feature if they must. Of course it will NEVER happen. But imo, they could do right by doing this.
I'm 31. My parents owned Pong and later Atari, which we were allowed to play only every so often. The NES came along, and I started playing games weekly. The Gameboy came along and I began playing daily. By the time SNES came along, gaming was my favorite brand of entertainment, and a part of the fabric of my life. I have owned every major console since except the PS3, which I will most certainly be getting circa God of War 3, then working my way back through the catalog of games that are les...
To each his own. That which we condone or desire is easily condemned by the next man, and vice versa. It's a rare person who doesn't have some sort of non-mainstream sexual desire/thoughts/fetish. Even many of those who claim that they don't are either closeted out of fear of society's judgment, or they are suppressed by religion/hard handed culture/fear of what their friends and family would say. If it's not hurting anyone else, hey, go for it. Even so, I probably don't want to hear about it...
That online gaming, vocal communication is possible on the Wii, and that I'll be waiting for another company to work their way around the walls and curves to create a functioning head-set. I'm not buying that thing, and there's no way I'm buying that gimped out Game Cube-esque Animal crossing game. Unfortunately, staggering is the correct term... Nintendo is so out of touch with, or indifferent to what I want as a gamer that it's saddening, and near maddening.
Still, the Wii news is rather lacking, though I understand that that's not really your audience. Games like Manhunt 2 and No More Heroes were INSANELY bloody and violent, and each has been out for quite a while now. The people making the recent stink won't change anything for Nintendo sales-wise. If people had a bottom-line attitude of: "I am responsible for me and mine" this wouldn't be an issue. If you don't want your kid exposed to a violent game, make sure you don't buy it for t...
Marvel vs. Capcom 2 is arguably the best fighting game ever made. The sheer amount of positive unintended abilities, glitches, and moves gave the game a life of it's own beyond what the creators intended. If this game were even remotely as good, I'd at least try it. Not sure about the whole balance board thing though. I own one, and am waiting for real games to use it, but a fighting game? Well, like I said, I'd try it.
Hope is all we have these days regarding this game, so this is welcome news to me.
Actually, McCain owns the patent on old.
I don't trust him at all.
That being said, it's not as if I trust Obama either. But I'm far more willing to give Obama a shot. McCain as President would be a nightmare imo.
...but anyway, nice article.
...what you suggest (the side story) is most likely. Mostly because RE:5 wasn't originally planned for the Wii, and would likely be very late if they did.
A remake/port of last gen RE4 and a side on rails game based on earlier versions both sold over 1 million apiece on the Wii. There is a large Resident Evil fan base already existing on the Wii. If RE5 came out for it, it not only would sell better than those, but some people who don't own the console would buy it just for the controls. At the least it would sell comparably to what the other consoles sell.
Even if as you say, 1 in 15 Wii owners bought it, there are 30 million Wii ...
I'm as annoyed by Nintendo's "screw you" attitude of late as anyone. But in this particular case, do people really think that with the Clone Wars movie being released even as we speak, that Lucas Arts would have delayed this game until next March-April or so in order to implement Wii-motion plus? I don't think so. The movie is the biggest marketer of the game. There's no way it doesn't come out as originally planned.
That being said, I'm sure that developers are annoye...
...when Street Fighter 2 came out for the SNES I was plenty satisfied, and I had already played the hell out of the arcade version. A Wii version of SF4 would look far better by comparison. As long as it looks decent, and the controls are spot on, I want it. But then again, if I have my PS3 by the time this is released, I'll definitely get it for that since I wouldn't have to worry about a potentially crappy online mode.
