No easier way to sap all of the fun out of it though than by playing stock with no time limit and no items. A Smash Bros match that takes 10 minutes just isn't fun.
The funny thing is though that items aside, you can make special rules to have both time and stock in order to keep it reasonable, but people still would rather play a 10 minute match...
(When I say 10 minute match I mean that it takes entirely too long for the match to be completed. Not that it's been s...
that Nintendo has the advantage with the common customer when it comes to their console being most desired. If all of a sudden, no matter what console you're talking about, the Wii isn't much cheaper if at all, then the sales pitches about HD gaming, Blu Ray and HD movies start to carry more weight. Once you give up your advantage it's gone. Conceivably, Nintendo could go from completely dominant to having lost the current market advantage by the end of the year due to these new price points....

Obviously an ad with a white man instead of a black man would be more effective in Poland which is White by vast majority. However, the way Microsoft handled it brings to mind a situation like this:
"The U.S. ad we're going to be running in Poland... It would be more effective if we replace the African American with a Caucasian."
"Right. Get it done, but do it quickly and cheaply. We don't have time to do it all over."
"Gotcha. D...
That's what appeals to more people. They see the name of the system in the title, and there's a certain feeling of, "Oh, that's supposed to go with that product I bought. I think I'll try it."
Why do they even run this piece. I can't remember a single time where her answers have been informative or comforting rather than pure "Nintendo can do no wrong" P.R. I realize that's her job. But why does IGN bother? More often than not it's insulting, annoying, unsatisfying, or all of the above.
there's been no mention of local split screen multiplayer.
No Wii-speak + no split screen = the feeling of playing alone even when you are playing with others = Might as well be playing against the AI.
that since those other quality games are out there, and people tend to be satisfied right now with online FPS play, this two year old port has a good thing going for it with split screen, since no one has it. But if they don't do it either, then for many people, why spend the money when they just bought The Conduit, and WaW last year?
And yes, removing a mode from this game that is the most appealing mode to the Wii audience would make the game gimped.
If you want to play the game in the original way then buy it for GC for very cheap since they are old games.
This isn't forcing gamers to do anything. It's giving an option, and a damned good one. 3 excellent games, 2 with updated controls for 50 bucks? This makes me forgive them for charging $50 for WarioLand Shake it. Best deal since the Orange Box no doubt.
reeks of the Wii's late gimpy Guitar Hero 1 release. They better do right this time.
they can release a double usb port plug in piece that upgrades it to potential 720p resolution, and for $100 or less, I think we're just waiting for the next generation and content to play the strong efforts released between now and then.
they used an upgraded version of the World at War engine used for the Wii.
But now I see with this MW2 situation that it's a way to make a powerful statement to a company that you feel is ripping off gamers.
I do feel bad for companies that do right yet have their hard work bought second hand though.
Personally, I doubt I'll ever buy a used game from a current generation. But I now see the potential value in the used games market. Sometimes you want to play a game, and you just don't think it's right to pay what is being asked for a new co...
Would HD gamers be satisfied with an upgraded base port of this game from the Wii, with upgraded textures and resolutions? There's no way they build it over from the ground up. If gamers are cool with that, then I'd say that it's pretty much a given that at some point we'll see at least a PS3 version.
The game itself was cheaper to develop. A game like this on 360 or PS3 would cost 3 times as much to produce easily. There's so much more time and work involved to create an HD game that both looks amazing and has a huge detailed world. So we have:
1. The Wii has by far the most consoles sold in the world for this gen, and in Japan, the primary market. (Meaning that more people will buy it)
2. The game was cheaper to develop for and cheaper for gamers to buy.
...
They'll bring MW2 eventually, but they're going to milk it and get the money for the original one first.
for me is whether or not the game will have split screen multiplayer. I have no intention of buying a Wii version unless this feature is present. I want to play a solid fps on the Wii that has split screen multiplayer. The Wii hasn't had that yet. Not to mention this game will be to some extent gimped if they don't keep the feature.
as long as you play it with a group of friends. Experience-wise, it's not a game meant for solo play.
The random tripping thing is just annoying.
