As long as its better than the system in Mafia II then I would be good with it. In a game like GTAV which is continuing in the vein of GTAIV's realism, this makes sense. Plus they could easily turn it off in the settings... Like you could still get gas to add to the experience if you wanted too, but it wasn't necessary.

A couple of these indies could be the next Naughty Dog or Rockstar so I can see why they're giving them so much love.
I think they've confirmed in a few different articles that its entirely free. I'm sure they'll cash in a little and offer in game purchases for weapons, cars etc but we'll see.
Maybe if Nvidia did less talking and more walking I'd actually listen. I'm down for competition and even though I think most of the talking heads at Nvidia have tarnished them a little, I'd be excited if they came out with an upgradable console. That'd be innovation to me. Design a controller, design a console with a solid game and indie lineup and make it upgradable with faster CPU, GPU and RAM capabilities. Other than that, nothing is going to crush the big three anytime soo...
Well to be fair these are probably PS3/360 screens, which for 7 year old hardware is still putting out good visuals considering the size and scale of GTAV. I'm assuming that the game on PS4/X1 and PC ( especially PC ) is going to look gorgeous.

Who said Steam was mandatory? Pacostacos brought it up and I was replying to why a company who puts forth such policies would never get my money.
Any company that would put forth policies that discourage a person from trading games with friends, or purchase games at their own accord is not tailoring to the hardcore fan base. And making someone be online 24/7 to play a game follows the same guideline. They won't get my money is all I'm saying.
After seeing a modded out PC version I'd agree... If I hadn't played TLOU that is. And as others have said, GTA V is right around the corner.
I've been gaming since I was 5 and I'm 29 now. I've have the entire gamut of consoles so I'd consider myself a "true gamer". As one, I'd say that any company that doesn't support used games and makes you be online 24/7 doesn't cater to the hardcore or true gamers. It doesn't matter that they went back on these features, the simple fact that they pushed them is enough to make me not support the X1.

I pay for PlayStation Plus. I would have rather had a subscription service from the beginning to be completely honest. MS had the better business model and I'm happy Sony is following suit.
I have more friends on PS3, plus they have the better exclusives IMO. Let's not forget they didn't try and tell me where I could buy my games or when I could be online. I don't have selective memory like some people here. Not only that, but I use my game console to play games, imagine that... I could care less about the extras honestly. It all boils down to personal preference in the long run. I guess I'd just rather stick to the company that didn't try and no lube me righ...
