That's exactly what I'm saying and it's exactly true. Just because you can't grasp that concept, doesn't mean it's not right. Sure MS wouldn't go under, but their XBOX devision sure would be dead last this generation and floundering much worse than Sony right now if they didn't have their shooters to be RELIANT on. There's that word again. The Sony bran is and always has been about variety of game play and something for everybody... the XBOX... not so much....
I think I read a total of ten or so posts that actually understood the article. Let me help the other 240+ other people who don't understand what was going on. SONY is not RELIANT on shooters. Microsoft is. Yes, Sony does sell FPS's however, they have a VARIETY of OTHER games so they don't have to make all their money on one or two FPS franchises. If this was to give the PS3 full software based backwards compatibility. That would severely fudge over the "hackers". However, it's probably just a patch to stop them from using their USB dongles entirely. Cest la vie.
Why did it take this long to do it? This is what happens when Sony ^&*%'s with Linux users. While Pandora's box is already open, I'd still wait and see how this unfolds as it's still not as widespread as 360 or Wii hacks.
So what I'm getting by reading most of the posts is that Sony blocked the PS3's BC to make money from still selling PS2 consoles and software? I'm sure by now the PS2 is purely profit, but wouldn't that mean that MORE people would buy PS3's instead of PS2's to play remade HD versions of said games? I tried to pick up and play Modern Warfare 2 the other day and just couldn't get into it. BFBC2 just floats my boat more and I have more fun playing it. No more money from me Activision, sorry. Dice just makes better games IMHO. Not since CoD/2 have I really played the series day in day out like I play Bad Company 2.
I can attest to this being a small issue. My 60GB fatty just YLOD for the second time and I tried to swap the HDD in to get my games saves and such off and it kept telling me I needed version 3.41 to continue as soon as it started up. So yeah, now I have to go through all kinds of fun stuff to get the info off... not cool Sony. Not cool.
Seriously! The first thing I did when I got the game was disable that crap. Plus if you wanna be a gangstar and play hardcore online you have to get used to not having it anyway.
I've come to the realization that the XBOX 360 has ruined some of my favorite games. And ports of good games too. So therefore we can conclude that either the developers must be smacked across their lazy faces, or everyone with an XBOX 360 must be smacked for allowing these crappy ports to continue. I think if it was happening at the alarming rate it is for the PS3 to you 360 owners you'd be up in arms too, eh?

I liked the Transformers movies, but just because of the CGI and the characters. Everything else was crap. Acting, crap. Storyline, crap.
