The Dual ARM8 architecture is required for DS BC, and they will be responsible for the bottom screen -- they might be ARM9s in the 3DS, or just reduced-die ARM8s with a higher clock.

The Pica 200 GPU will run at 200 MHz, not 400 MHz like this article claims. It possible to run it at that rate, but the "look at how much the PSP-1000 uses during MGS:PW" comparison is totally bogus. The DS battery, and presumably the 3DS battery, is not huge enough to store as much j...

I don't understand this article. Why compare with a Falcon? Why not a Jasper?

MW2 is rated that way for its theme/story, I think. Playing as a terrorist is something I'm surprised was even allowed an "M". If it had been released a couple years back, it would have had an "AO".

You're killing unarmed/innocents -- that's the "M". Blood is allowed in "T" games -- gore isn't, but there isn't any gore in MW2, as you stated.... well maybe a little.

MW2 sales say this guy is in the severe minority.

Why do hardcore gaming journalists believe the world wants to dance to their tune? Not that I disagree with him, personally... except for his #1 point. Improved gore? wth? We got enough blood spattering everywhere as is. Its getting to the point of being stupid. Does every headshot have to result in exploded head, and spurting neck gore these days? Kinda contrary to the rest of his points.

More than likely, the kid whose XBox he wanted, loved to blast the volume so loud that Gramps couldn't sleep at night. He probably bust in to kick the kid's shins in, and then relented at the last moment and just demanded the console.

Classic news spin to make a story look wierd and different, when its really just the same old stuff.

Wow. I guess it was too easy to get by the old proprietary system. Now you have to break open the drive -- which of course would probably irrevocably damage it outside a particle vacuum.

BS. MS has to deal with EACH retailer, and settle on a MSRP that all the retailers will agree will benefit them, BEFORE the retailers will even place an order for the units (they have a profitable business to run!). Without order #s, MS has NO idea how many to manufacture, and thus could waste tens or even hundreds of MILLIONS by making units no retailer will buy.

Manufacturing takes months. MS already set the MSRP, and Kinect is already in production, if its going to hit ...

Last I checked, any game console can detect children, and adjust difficulty based on the options setting in the game.

The cool part is, if you're short, or tall, the console won't screw with your difficulty setting for you.

I think its pretty foolish to judge a MP game by its SP look. If there are user created rooms, the potential is there to enable and disable about 10 bazillion game features.

You can't knock the game for having options for everyone. If they hadn't added things like cover, etc., the game would fall behind, and tons of people would hate it. No one has told us if cover is, for example, a toggle-able option in MP, for example. A selectable feature, just like the map yo...

Most people seem to think the Move will be at a disadvantage, actually. Which wouldn't matter, since all those Move players will *also* have a DualShock to fall back on.

With some practice, the Move might be better at some roles... maybe sniping, and distance/support fire. But I think it won't be significant enough to warrant separating the playerbase.

Am I the only one who thinks the older SOCOM story missions were boring as heck, and this one looks WAY better? Not looking like old SOCOM single player is a good thing.

If MP is even remotely the same, this SOCOM will be the definitive one, for sure.

The DSi costs $170, and DSi XL costs $190.

What did you guys expect? Nintendo is going to flush their profits down the toilet to put hot new tech into your hands? The games hardware industry is immune to inflation and bad economic conditions?

$250 is totally reasonable for it. Heck $300 is probably more like it.

This guy is a fool to think OnLive is a threat to console gaming.

Does he even play games? Does he think the internet is made of "magic", or something else he doesn't understand but just crosses his fingers for?

OnLive may work okay (...sorta, if you like an extra 100ms of control lag) in highly-connected urban areas... but in rural America, where a huge chunk of the console gaming population resides? Not anytime soon. Its only slow reaction ...

I'm having trouble catagorizing the Star Wars game I'm seen thusfar as "hardcore".

Don't get me wrong... it looked fun. Hardcore? No.

The Move has all of the buttons of the right-side of the DS3. You basically only need the DS3 left stick, and L1+L2+L3, for the games that even support the Nav Controller.. thus you can use it one-handed.

@GreenRingsOfLife:

The Move does the rumbling, if you use it with a Dualshock (or Sixaxis, or Navigation Controller), as I understand it.

5697d ago 0 agree1 disagreeView comment

Yep, the Sixaxis will make a better Navigation Controller substitute than a Dualshock 3, due to weight... or lack thereof.

The problem with the PSP-1000 thru -3000 is that, by nature of even having a UMD drive, the device itself is too big to fit comfortably in your pocket. So is the DS Lite, for that matter, especially when you include carry-along cart games for it.

UMDs suck because of both the UMDs themselves AND the size of the drive. Just the drive makes the PSP-3000, and its predecessors, too large to carry comfortably, if you don't have some pack space for it in a pack you've got...

Its a PR play made by a real person, in a proposal to a fictional character who MS knew couldn't respond.

You should be mad at MS for trying to manipulate the common Joe into thinking "Sony is a meanie" by proposing a no-win scenario to a fictional Sony character, not Sony for making it light-hearted in response.

5697d ago 3 agree0 disagreeView comment

MS couldn't lose by proposing this to a fictional character.

Either they get free press, or they get free press.

In reality, the fact that Major Nelson proposed that Sony's actor stop on by was kinda slimy, since he knew it wasn't actually possible, and is just doing it as a MS PR stunt.
