Those are screens from other MGS games. I don't think that's from the 3DS at all. I don't think the 3DS screen is that high rez, actually, from the Kid Icarus video.

I doubt it'll be more powerful than a Wii. It'll probably be about as powerful as a GameCube. Making it more powerful than that would burn up battery, and Nintendo's wallet.

That's not gonna happen.

I thought $50 was really cheap for the Move, personally. I expected $60. That's cheaper than a DualShock3.

I guess I don't care that I can't sell the old Ferrari model, which I never paid anywhere near enough money to own, when the new one comes out and I start driving it, instead?

Seems like kind of... wanting it all for $50 a year? The only other option, that I see for Sony, would be to give away the digital equivalent of plastic happy meal toys to their subscribers.. oh but they are for keeps, of course.

I'm not really onboard with that.

If you got to keep the stuff, you can be certain that it'd only be cheap stuff they'd offer.

You can look at this from 2 perspectives:

(A) You get some cheap stuff for free with the service, and get to keep it forever...or
(B) You get some expensive stuff you get to keep while you stay subscribed.

I think (B) may be the preferred option, for many people. I hate dollar store junk, personally... if you get the analogy. Get a f...

Extraction was a good game on the Wii. I'll gladly pick up the special edition to enjoy it in HD, along with my new Dead Space 2.

That's exclusive content that MS won't be seeing.. ever.. so I feel like the PS3 version is definately the one I'll get.

5699d ago 1 agree0 disagreeView comment

Sony actually had a lot of stuff to show off, and their presentation was funny. Lots of truly exclusive content (like the upgraded MoH:F game in the special edition), Heroes on the Move, Portal 2/Steam, Sly collection, Sorcery, and Twisted Metal all looked like good stuff to me.

Add that to all the stuff Sony has announced in the past few weeks, and they definately look to be on a roll.

Nintendo's conference was exciting, but... everything exciting was &...

Looked to have about the muscle of a PSP, which I found appealing. Little 3D screen (and Kid Icarus looked a bit low res), but it is having to render that stuff 2x for 3D. I wouldn't be surprised if it was a DSi with 2x the memory, clock, etc -- which would put it right in line with the PSP.

The stereo cameras sound fun, too.

You can buy some of the best racing wheels made for well under $150.

I just thought I'd mention that.

It'll be using the Move as an optional control scheme, it's not an exclusive.

I actually disagree, a little, with the "made to snatch Wii market share" comment.

I think Kinect was made to grab some Wii-turf. I think the Move was made to appeal to Sony's traditional crowd, plus a few more folks.

In other words, I think Kinect was made to sell more hardware, and exclusive Kinect software, whereas the Move was made to sell the same software to more people.

Subtle difference, perhaps.

Awesome. I'd like a modified freighter capable of point-5 past lightspeed, and some smuggling holds.

I have to concur with Colonel-KZ with regards to cover, etc. GRAW is all about cover, and its probably not much different from SOCOM 4. You can't praise GRAW and put down SOCOM for cover, when they're basically identical in this regard.

I disagree with the health regen, since, without respawn, once you got a guy pinned, I figure he deserves to regen if he escapes (well, actually I just don't care).. he just can't die and come back somewhere else.

Regen is totally immaterial in SOCOM. People mostly die the first time they're seen.

I've played a LOT of SOCOM. Regen... unimportant. SOCOM is about having one life per round, and frankly, having regen doesn't much change that, because you don't get a magical teleport once the enemy spots you, and respawns you (note I didn't say "kills" you). Any game with respawns -- the ultimate form of "regen" -- is not SOCOM. This game isn'...

"Ubisoft’s Ghost Recon Future Soldier is being displayed at E310. Players will gain access to optical camo, which will make them invisible. Players will also have “fucking rockets on shoulders,” as our own Bryce Wilson put it. The game will also focus much heavier on close combat that previous entries in the series."

Somehow I think SOCOM 4 has nothing to worry about. Halo might, though... eh maybe not.

Cloaking devices and shoulder-mounted rocket ...

Sony should release a similar camera device and price it at about 30% the price.. say $40.

Oh wait...

The PS3 outputs better sound than the 360, especially in a 7.1 environment, and so it just makes for a better theatrical presentation, folks.

There's not really any other reason.. I don't think.

Somehow I have a feeling that the dynamic slicing won't be overly applicable during boss fights. Unless there are some new "centipede" Gears where you have to cut off all 100 legs to beat them, or something.

If it wasn't for the outrageous price, I'd say Kinect was a serious threat to Nintendo's reign of the Blue Ocean.

But.. its not. It costs too much. WAY too much. People just don't want to spend that much on kids and video fitness stuff. Nintendo had it right, with both theme AND price.

That said, I know some DDR fans who will be all over that Harmonix game, no matter what.

Did 3500 shows, total, sound unimpressive to anyone else, given all the sports (including MLB, which has a huge number of games each season) that were included? It seemed like they were gonna be pretty selective about the coverage, and I wouldn't be surprised if they were plastered with ads... how else would ESPN make money from this deal? I'm sure MS isn't going to share XBL Gold profits with them..

I knew this game wasn't going to be MGS5, but I'm trying to say that this presentation of it made it feel like a NG clone with a MGS skin -- not really deserving of the MGS name at all, except for the character usage.

A hybrid between the two would be more interesting -- the entire MGS *series* is stealth based, and this game *does* have the MGS name. I'd assume there would be some serious stealth with the ninja action -- but they didn't show any such thing, ...
