Irrelevant of any concerted effort to undermine the PS4s success, especially from a select few sites, sales numbers (both in the US and especially globally) have already shown that people have voted with their wallets and AT THE MOMENT the PS4 is the console of choice, Bloodborne or no Bloodborne.
At the end of the day the buying public choose what they want, and to date they've overwhelmingly chosen the PS4. It's outsold the competition all but 3 (or is it 4?) months in the U...
No, no iPhone.
The Japanese are xenophobic and hate American products remember? Right guys? Guys? Hello???
Frankly I think MS has burnt their bridges in this country due to their past decisions.
OG Xbox was marketed in the country and as soon as the successor came out got abandoned. Now sure there may have been reasons for MS doing that but it still didn't sit well.
360 lured them in with the promise of exclusive JRPG's (blue dragon, lost odyssey etc). However then the games just dried up (although in all fairness they pretty much dried up globally in the final years, apart...
It's basically their way of rating games.
So A, B, C, D, DD, E and so on.
Started when they were trying to rate their anime style games, to give the buyers an idea of what to expect from the games characters.
And yes, the above is a joke ...
I remember trying to wrap my head around the "smaller" numbers when I moved to the UK.
Was like "A CD for £15? Bargain" cause I was used to seeing them for R550, it was the "small" number that messed with my head.
Wasted far too much cash before the UK price became the norm. Then went back to SA on holiday and was like "R1000 for a tshirt? You frikken kidding me?"
Already preordered this beauty!
I'm almost tempted to preorder the statue edition as well, as the statue is hella-cool.
Have the collectors for origins and Arkham city as well
You forgot about "Indiestation4" and how nobody buys a console to play indies.
Now all of a sudden games like Ori are "one of the most anticipated games of the year".
My, my, how times change.
Lived in Newcastle for 10 years and Scotland for 4 :)
Just thought my comment would be more relatable to the non-Brits as a stereotypical accent as opposed to "Waye-aye pet, gan cannny doon the toon to catch the magpies like"
British accent? Jolly good show old chap what what!
@uptownsoul
I can't believe I'm going to have to use my last bubble trying to explain this again.
I just don't understand what's so difficult to get
My comment had nothing to do with the exclusives of either console
It had nothing to do with the games
It had nothing to do with the scores
Let me try and reiterate ==>
Game variety and game score have absolutely no bearing on what I was highlighting in my comment...
I'm not speaking for anyone but me here.
Yes people are willing to pay.
But one of the reasons I went PS3 was free online.
Given a choice this gen I'd go for the console with free online again.
Just speaking for myself here.
I never said MS NEED to drop the charge, just it would massively benefit them in competing against Sony (and they have more ability to support a move like that)
Erm ... kurruptor ... I don't think you quite understood my post. Here's a quick simplification:
I was pointing out how AussieGamer1 was saying it's all opinion, but then went on to dismiss anyone with a different opinion to him as a fanboy in the same post.
Hence the #contradictory at the end. His very post contradicted itself.
My post had nothing to do with my opinions of the exclusives of either console. Just the contradictory nature of his post...
Wait, you talk about xenophobia when both the PS2 and PS3 sold pretty much equally in Asia, Europe (across the whole of the area) and the U.S.
The PS4 is currently selling a higher proportion in the US and Europe than Asia.
Meanwhile all XB consoles sold over 75% in 2 regions, US and one part of Europe (UK, which under Blair had a "special relationship"). Of that, over 45% of sales happened in the US alone
I hate this xenophobia dismissal of Asia. If...
I flatly refuse to pay to play online.
Didn't on my 360, didn't need to on my PS3, and refuse to do so on my PS4.
It's not a cost thing, I could easily afford it many times over, it's a principle thing.
And because I barely have time play offline nowadays, never mind expanding that to online as well!
And that's one of the primary reasons I don't have an XB1, because most of their exclusives are heavily focussed towards online gaming.
Everything he wrote is opinion
It's all opinion,
so far when it comes to AAA games microsoft is on top
console owners who own both will tell you the same thing
unless ofcorse you are speaking to a fanboy
This is just my opinion.
Everything is opinion ... and this is my opinion ... but MS has the better AAA games and if you disagree you're a fanboy because I speak on behalf of everyone who owns both consoles?
#contradict...
Really? Well you live and learn.
When I left SA over a decade ago Telkom was the fixed line provider and pretty much had the "broadband" (I use inverted comma's as the service wasn't much better than dial-up) monopoly.
In fact, when I left, they were trying to get a court case going to ban the recently introduced mobile internet dongle for some absurd reason (some trumped up thing which basically translated into "they can provide a faster service than us...
Telkom does gaming reviews now? What the???
The cloud?
So considering the majority of sales of the XB, across all generations, have been in the US and US wannabe (UK ... and that's coming from someone who lives in the UK) ... and the above study shows that the number 1 reason is brand loyalty ... and the XB is a US brand ... can we now conclude that the only reason it sells is due to xenophobia?
Just seeing if we can apply the same logic and standard that is applied to any reasoning as to why the PS brand does better than the XB bran...
Haunting Ground.
A criminally overlooked survival horror from the PS2 era
